There is no single best Solo Leveling: Arise team for every account or encounter. Treat tier lists as dated shortlists, then choose from your own roster based on the fight’s elemental weakness, Break or shield needs, damage and support roles, and weapon fit. The latest lists covered here disagree on some Hunters, and Netmarble reported broad Hunter and Sung Jinwoo weapon balance adjustments in its September 15, 2026 developer note.
Who are the best Hunters in Solo Leveling: Arise?
Two editorial lists updated in October 2026 offer different answers. Pocket Gamer’s combined Hunter and weapon list is marked for version 1.4.46 and updated October 4, 2026. Gacha Go!’s Hunter list says it was updated October 1, 2026. Neither is an official game ranking, and their placements reflect editorial judgments rather than a universal measure of performance.
Pocket Gamer’s S+ Hunters
Pocket Gamer places the following Hunters in S+: Lee Joohe (Pilgrim of the Labyrinth), Meri Laine, Minnie, Lennart Niermann, Merlin Fisher, Cha Hae-In, Min Byung-Gu, Silver Mane Baek Yonhoo, Choi Jong-In, Emma Laurent, and Seo Jiwoo.

Why the lists disagree
Seo Jiwoo is a striking example: Pocket Gamer rates her S+, while Gacha Go! places her in C. Pocket Gamer lists Thomas Andre in S or A; Gacha Go! places him in C. Do not average these letters or assume either guide establishes a character’s value in every fight. Their disagreement is a reason to check the matchup and your build, not evidence that one placement is objectively correct.
Gacha Go! specifically points to elemental weaknesses and Break mechanics in high-level content. A Hunter’s practical value can therefore change with the enemy, your other units, and the investment you can put into that character. Use a tier label to decide whom to investigate, not whom to build automatically.
Rank #2
What are the best weapons in Solo Leveling: Arise?
Weapons matter because they contribute stats and battle effects; Pocket Gamer also says a Hunter becomes stronger with the relevant default weapon. That does not establish a complete compatibility chart, so confirm a weapon’s fit in the game rather than assuming that a high-tier weapon is best for every Hunter.

Pocket Gamer’s S+ weapon list
Pocket Gamer’s October 4, 2026 list labels these weapons S+: Thetis’ Grimoire, Tome of the Aurora, Soma & Asura, Stormbringer, Winchester Roke, Transfiguration Key, Winterbreaker, Demonic Plum Flower Sword, The Huntsman, Thethis’ Grimoire, Demon King’s Longsword, Suppressed White Tiger’s Soul, Eternal Slumber, Night-Thoughts, The Sword of Light, Howling White Tiger’s Soul, West Wind, and Radiru Clan’s Double-edged Spear.
The list renders both “Thetis’ Grimoire” and “Thethis’ Grimoire.” Treat those spellings as shown in the guide rather than assuming they are interchangeable or silently correcting one. The source’s S+ label is an editorial ranking, not an official in-game grade.
Shortlist recommendations are not a reason to pull blindly
For Custom Draw weapon selection, Pocket Gamer calls out Demonic Plum Flower Sword, The Huntsman, Thethis’ Grimoire, and Demon King’s Longsword. This is that guide’s recommendation, not a guarantee that every item is in your current draw pool or suits your roster. Check the live in-game selection and weapon fit before spending tickets or Essence Stones.
How do I build a team around my best units?
Build around the content you are entering, not an account-wide tier ranking. The available evidence supports comparing damage, support utility, and Break or shield performance; it does not establish one best lineup, detailed rotations, or a universal three-Hunter team.
- Check the encounter. Identify its elemental weakness and whether the enemy has a Break or shield gauge. Gacha Go! notes that these mechanics matter in high-level content.
- Choose by job. From your available roster, identify who can supply the damage, support, or Break performance the encounter needs. A top-ranked unit that does not address the fight may be a weaker practical choice than a lower-ranked unit that fills the missing job.
- Check weapon fit. Consider the relevant default weapon and its effects, then verify the pairing in game. The cited lists do not provide a complete Hunter-to-weapon compatibility matrix.
- Confirm availability and investment. Make decisions using units and weapons you actually own or can obtain, and account for the build investment you can afford. A list placement alone does not establish how a unit will perform at your level of investment.
- Reassess after balance changes. Netmarble’s September 15, 2026 developer note reports broad balance adjustments to Hunters and Sung Jinwoo’s weapons. Pocket Gamer’s October list is labeled version 1.4.46; check the game’s current version and subsequent notices before relying on an older ranking.
Should you spend draw resources on a recommended unit or weapon?
Only treat a recommendation as actionable after checking the current draw pool and your own account. Pocket Gamer’s October 4 guide names Min Byung-Gu, Choi Jong-In, Emma Laurent, and Seo Jiwoo for Custom Draw Hunter rate-up selection, while noting that not all Hunters are selectable there. Its weapon shortlist is Demonic Plum Flower Sword, The Huntsman, Thethis’ Grimoire, and Demon King’s Longsword. These are guide recommendations; verify the live selections, banner, and your ticket and Essence Stone situation in game before spending.
Patch timing matters as much as the tier label. The September 2026 balance changes are a reminder that rankings can age quickly, while the October lists represent dated editorial snapshots—not official rankings or a promise of future performance.
Quick Recap
How to read these rankings responsibly
- Use the list’s date and version when comparing advice; the two Hunter guides here were updated October 1 and October 4, 2026, and Pocket Gamer identifies version 1.4.46.
- Compare a character’s role and encounter fit, not just the letter beside the name.
- Check the in-game roster, draw pool, and weapon options before spending scarce resources.
- Expect practical value to shift with element, enemy mechanics, build investment, and later balance changes.
