Gurugram police told reporters that a 13-year-old girl was injured after jumping from a moving motorcycle while trying to escape alleged molestation during a ride home from school in Sohna. Police reportedly arrested a 23-year-old suspect on September 26, 2026; he was remanded to judicial custody the next day. The reports describe allegations and an ongoing investigation, not a conviction.
What police say happened in Sohna
According to Hindustan Times’ October 3, 2026 report, the alleged incident took place on September 24, as the girl was returning home from school in Sohna. Police said a 23-year-old neighbour offered her a ride on his motorcycle. The report says she jumped from the moving motorcycle while attempting to escape alleged molestation and was injured. The child’s identity is not reported here.

Hindustan Times reports that the suspect had fled the village before police traced him. The reports say the case was registered at City Sohna police station. Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan told Hindustan Times: “An FIR was immediately registered against him on the mother’s complaint under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act at the City Sohna police station.”

The Times of India and UNI identify the provisions in the police account as sections 75(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and sections 10 and 12 of the POCSO Act. Those reports say further investigation was underway. A September 27 remand to judicial custody is a custody status, not a finding of guilt; the reviewed reports do not establish a later court outcome.
