Soccerina of Time is an unofficial Nintendo 64 modification of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time that turns Hyrule’s characters and settings into a soccer game. Its most unusual reported feature is a creator that lets players combine character parts and animations. It is credited to modder Shon J; it is a fan project, not an official Nintendo release.
What is Soccerina of Time?
Rather than send Link through the familiar adventure, the hack puts Hyrule characters on the pitch. Nintendo Wire’s September 30, 2026 report describes characters and NPCs assigned to team positions, with clubs inspired by places in the game. Dexerto’s October 1, 2026 coverage also describes teams and soccer-focused features. These are reported project details, and may differ between builds.
Reported club names include Kokiri FC, Kakariko City, Zora United, Castle Town, Real Castle, Gerudo Fortress, and Hylia United. The project’s soccer premise and Hyrule setting are the core change; the available reports do not establish a complete roster or ruleset.

What does the hack change?
Hyrule characters become soccer players
Characters familiar from Ocarina of Time are assigned positions on teams. The reports describe stages, slide tackles, scoring cutscenes, and a league and injury system, but do not document every mechanic or how complete each system is.

A mix-and-match character creator
Nintendo Wire highlights a creator that combines parts from different characters and can use character animations. Its example puts a Cucco head, Ganondorf torso, Princess Ruto legs, and Talon’s running animation together. Dexerto also reports the creator, while noting that the project is a prototype. Feature availability may vary by build.
How to find the project and current build
Release information changes over time. Nintendo Wire reported on September 30, 2026 that a video showed build 0.1 and that build 0.3 had since been released. That dated report does not establish which build is current now. Zelda Central points readers to the project’s channel in the Hylian Modding Discord for playable builds and updates. Check that channel for current access details and the project’s own instructions.

What you need to know before trying it
The Zelda Central listing identifies the base game as Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64, but says its exact region and revision are unconfirmed. Follow the project’s included instructions for the required ROM version and patching tool; the reviewed sources do not establish a specific compatible ROM revision or name a patching tool.
Those sources also do not confirm compatibility with a particular emulator, console, controller, or adapter. Do not assume a specific setup will work based on the game’s N64 origins alone.

Is it for you?
It may appeal if you want to see Hyrule reworked as an experimental soccer game and are comfortable following a fan project’s community updates and setup instructions. If your priority is the original adventure, or you need confirmed compatibility with a particular device or ROM revision, the available reports do not provide enough information to make that setup predictable.
Dexerto attributes this prototype description to a September 29, 2026 post by Reticent (@ReticentY2K): “It’s currently a prototype that features a custom character creator, several stages, slide tackles, scoring cutscenes, a league/injury system, and more to come!” Treat that as a description of the project at that time, not a guarantee that any particular feature will appear in a later build.
