Mit Microsoft PowerToys können Sie unter Windows 11 einzelne Tasten, Tastenkombinationen und Textausgaben neu belegen. Öffnen Sie in PowerToys den Keyboard Manager, wählen Sie Remap a key und legen Sie fest, welche Eingabe stattdessen gesendet werden soll. PowerToys ist eine zusätzliche, laufende Software – keine integrierte Windows-Einstellung.
PowerToys installieren und Keyboard Manager öffnen
PowerToys unterstützt Windows 11 sowie Windows 10 ab Version 2004 (Build 19041) auf x64- und ARM64-Prozessoren. Microsoft bietet die Installation über GitHub, Microsoft Store und WinGet an. Der Setup-Bootstrapper installiert bei Bedarf die aktuelle stabile Microsoft-Edge-WebView2-Runtime.
Öffnen Sie nach der Installation PowerToys und wählen Sie in der Seitenleiste Keyboard Manager. Aktivieren Sie Keyboard Manager, falls die Funktion ausgeschaltet ist. Bei Neuinstallationen ab PowerToys 0.100 wird standardmäßig der neu gestaltete WinUI-3-Editor geöffnet; in den Einstellungen können Sie zwischen neuem und klassischem Editor wechseln. Ältere Versionen können daher anders aussehen.

- Wählen Sie im Keyboard-Manager-Editor Remap a key.
- Klicken Sie auf Add key remapping, um eine Zuordnungszeile hinzuzufügen.
- Wählen Sie in der Spalte Select die Taste, die Sie drücken möchten. Sie können die Taste über das Auswahlfeld festlegen oder die entsprechende Eingabe dort erfassen.
- Wählen Sie in To send die Taste, Tastenkombination oder Textausgabe, die Windows stattdessen senden soll.
- Bestätigen Sie mit OK. Die Zuordnung sollte danach unmittelbar wirksam sein.
Beispiel: Soll die Taste A die Eingabe B erzeugen, richten Sie A als Select und B als To send ein. Die Zuordnung ersetzt die normale Funktion der ausgewählten Taste, solange Keyboard Manager aktiv ist.

Zwei Tasten wirklich tauschen
Eine einzelne Zuordnung ist keine automatische Gegentausch-Regel. Für einen Tausch zwischen A und B legen Sie zwei Zeilen an:
- A → B
- B → A
Damit wird beim Drücken von A die Eingabe B gesendet und beim Drücken von B die Eingabe A.

Tastenkombinationen und Text zuordnen
Einzelne Taste zu einem Shortcut oder Text
Im Dialog Remap a key kann eine einzelne Taste eine Tastenkombination senden. Für eine Textausgabe wählen Sie im Ausgabefeld Text und tragen die gewünschte Unicode-Zeichenfolge ein. So kann eine Taste beispielsweise eine häufig verwendete Zeichenfolge eingeben.

Shortcut zu Shortcut oder Taste
Für eine Tastenkombination als Eingabe öffnen Sie Remap a shortcut, nicht Remap a key. Dort können Sie einen Shortcut einer anderen Tastenkombination oder einer einzelnen Taste zuordnen. Die Reihenfolge, in der Tasten gedrückt werden, kann beeinflussen, wie eine Zuordnung innerhalb weiterer Shortcuts wirkt.

Shortcut nur in einer bestimmten Anwendung verwenden
Im Dialog für Shortcut-Zuordnungen können Sie eine Zielanwendung angeben. Verwenden Sie dafür den Prozessnamen, nicht den sichtbaren Anwendungsnamen – für Microsoft Edge beispielsweise msedge. Bleibt das Anwendungsfeld leer, gilt die Shortcut-Zuordnung global in Windows.
Grenzen und wichtige Hinweise
- PowerToys muss laufen: Die Zuordnungen greifen nur, solange PowerToys ausgeführt wird und Keyboard Manager aktiviert ist. Wird PowerToys beendet, funktionieren sie nicht mehr.
- Keine Zuordnung auf Anmeldebildschirmen: Remappings gelten nicht auf Passwort- und Anmeldebildschirmen.
- Erhöhte Apps: Wenn ein Fenster mit Administratorrechten gestartet wurde, muss auch PowerToys mit Administratorrechten laufen, damit die Zuordnung in diesem Fenster funktioniert.
- Reservierte Tastenkombinationen: Windows reserviert bestimmte Kombinationen, darunter Win+L und Strg+Alt+Entf; sie lassen sich nicht wie gewöhnliche Shortcuts behandeln.
- Fn-Taste: Laut Microsoft lässt sich die Fn-Taste in den meisten Fällen nicht neu belegen.
- Spiele: Microsoft rät davon ab, Keyboard Manager während des Spielens zu verwenden. Das Abfangen von Eingaben kann die Bildrate beeinträchtigen; außerdem werden bestimmte Tastatur-APIs nicht unterstützt.
- Modifier-Tasten: Neubelegungen von Win, Strg, Alt oder Umschalt können Gesten und Sondertasten stören. Auch AltGr kann betroffen sein, weil es sich wie linkes Strg plus rechtes Alt verhält.
Wenn eine Neubelegung nicht funktioniert
- Prüfen Sie, ob PowerToys läuft und Keyboard Manager aktiviert ist.
- Verwenden Sie die Zuordnung in einer erhöht gestarteten Anwendung? Starten Sie PowerToys ebenfalls mit Administratorrechten.
- Wenn eine andere Anwendung Tastatureingaben abfängt, kann sie mit Keyboard Manager kollidieren. Schalten Sie Keyboard Manager in den PowerToys-Einstellungen aus und wieder ein.
- Prüfen Sie, ob die gewünschte Taste oder Kombination zu den reservierten beziehungsweise nur eingeschränkt neu belegbaren Eingaben gehört.
PowerToys oder eine andere Lösung?
Für die beschriebenen typischen Änderungen an Tasten und Shortcuts bietet PowerToys einen in Windows nutzbaren, konfigurierbaren Weg. Die Zuordnungen hängen allerdings davon ab, dass die Software läuft. Geräte mit eigener Konfigurationssoftware oder fortgeschrittene Registry-Änderungen sind andere Ansätze; die hier genannten Microsoft-Anleitungen belegen dafür keine gleichwertigen Einrichtungsschritte. Eine neue Tastatur ist für eine einfache Neubelegung nicht erforderlich.
