The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4-equipped POCO F7 scored higher than the Dimensity 8500 Ultra-equipped POCO X8 Pro in a June 2026 head-to-head report. That is evidence about those two tested phones—not a guarantee that every phone with either chip will perform the same way. The chip specifications explain some differences, but cooling, firmware, power limits and test conditions also shape results.

What the reported benchmarks show

Gizmochina’s June 6, 2026 comparison tested a POCO F7 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 against a POCO X8 Pro with Dimensity 8500 Ultra. It reported these device-level scores:

Benchmark POCO F7 (Snapdragon 8s Gen 4) POCO X8 Pro (Dimensity 8500 Ultra)
Geekbench single-core 2,047 1,603
Geekbench multi-core 6,620 6,411
AnTuTu v11 total 2.32 million 2.11 million

These figures are reported for the named retail phones, not universal scores for the chipsets. The article does not establish a fully reproducible protocol, matching firmware or thermal state, or repeated-run averages, so the results should not be treated as a controlled silicon-only comparison. How the processor specifications differ

Dimensity 8500 CPU configuration

MediaTek lists eight Arm Cortex-A725 CPU cores in three clock-speed groups: one core up to 3.4 GHz, three up to 3.2 GHz, and four up to 2.2 GHz. This all-Cortex-A725 layout is a specification, not a prediction of how a phone will score. Peak clock speed alone does not determine benchmark performance; workload, sustained power and the handset’s thermal management matter too. MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 specifications

Snapdragon 8s Gen 4

Qualcomm’s product brief describes the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform and its features. The sources available for this comparison do not provide a directly matched, device-level CPU-cluster and clock specification table for both chips, so a complete core-by-core comparison is not established here. GPU, gaming and sustained performance

MediaTek lists an Arm Mali-G720 MC8 GPU for Dimensity 8500. Its January 15, 2026 announcement describes the platform as using an energy-efficient 4 nm process and claims peak GPU performance is 25% higher and GPU power consumption 20% lower than the previous generation. Those are MediaTek’s generational claims, not results from a direct comparison with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 announcement

The reported benchmark totals do not establish which chip delivers better gaming or sustained performance. A useful game comparison would need the same title, graphics settings, frame-rate limit, test duration and ambient conditions, as well as information about each phone’s thermal behavior. The cited head-to-head report does not supply enough detail to draw that controlled conclusion. Short synthetic benchmark scores also cannot establish long-duration efficiency.

How to use the comparison when choosing a phone

The POCO F7 versus POCO X8 Pro results can help compare those specific models, but they cannot isolate the chip as the sole cause of the score difference. Cooling design, firmware and power limits can affect a phone’s results. For everyday use, also compare battery life, display, camera system, software support, price and regional availability; the benchmark report does not settle those whole-phone trade-offs.
