There is no single winner across every benchmark: Tensor G5 scores slightly higher in the cited Geekbench 6 single-core aggregate, while Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 leads in the cited multicore and graphics results. These are third-party aggregates from different phones and uneven numbers of submissions—not controlled tests of identical devices—so treat them as indicative comparisons, not guaranteed results for every handset.

Benchmark values and CPU layouts in this table are NanoReview’s third-party comparison data, accessed in 2026. The Geekbench GPU compute results use different APIs—OpenCL for Snapdragon and Vulkan for Tensor—so they are not a strict like-for-like comparison. The 3DMark figures are reported aggregates, not results from a controlled test of matched phones. NanoReview’s comparison

Which chip is faster in CPU benchmarks?
Single-core: a small Tensor G5 lead in the cited aggregate
NanoReview reports Geekbench 6 single-core scores of 2,305 for Tensor G5 and 2,203 for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That makes Tensor G5 slightly higher in this particular aggregation. Geekbench single-core performance can be relevant to short tasks that rely heavily on one core, but it does not predict every app’s speed or a phone’s overall responsiveness on its own.
Multicore: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 leads in the cited aggregate
For Geekbench 6 multicore, NanoReview reports 6,511 for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 6,054 for Tensor G5. That result favors Snapdragon in this aggregation, but benchmark scores do not describe sustained performance under every workload or thermal condition.

The sample sizes are notably uneven: NanoReview lists 139 Snapdragon submissions and 8 Tensor G5 submissions for its Geekbench 6 CPU results. A second snapshot from 91mobiles shows a different Geekbench single-core ordering—2,303 for Snapdragon and 2,344 for Tensor—and different AnTuTu totals. The discrepancy is a reminder that scores vary by source and device; cite the benchmark and source rather than treating a score as an immutable property of a chip. 91mobiles’ comparison
The CPU designs are organized differently
NanoReview lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with one Cortex-X4, five Cortex-A720 cores split into two groups, and two Cortex-A520 cores. Tensor G5 is listed with one Cortex-X4, five Cortex-A725 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores. These layouts show the core types and counts, but do not alone establish which phone will feel faster: power limits, cooling, memory, and software affect what the hardware can sustain.
How do the GPUs compare for gaming and graphics?
The cited graphics-oriented results favor Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by a wider margin than the CPU aggregates. In NanoReview’s AnTuTu 11 data, Snapdragon’s GPU subscore is 805,478 versus 183,228 for Tensor G5. Its Geekbench GPU compute figures are 15,378 and 4,116, respectively, and its 3DMark Steel Nomad Light results are 1,652 at 12 FPS for Snapdragon and 1,012 at 7 FPS for Tensor.

These are benchmark results, not a promise that every game will run at a particular relative speed. Games differ in graphics APIs, rendering workloads, frame-rate caps, and optimization; individual phones also have different cooling and power settings. The Geekbench compute comparison is especially limited because the listed API differs between the chips. For a gaming decision, a test of the exact handset and games you play is more informative than extrapolating a single score.
NanoReview reports different numbers of submissions across these tests: 443 Snapdragon versus 16 Tensor G5 samples for AnTuTu 11, and 90 versus 7 for GPU compute. That imbalance makes exact margins less conclusive, particularly for Tensor G5.

Qualcomm’s product brief describes Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as a 4 nm mobile platform and lists an Adreno GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, LPDDR5x support up to 4,800 MHz, memory density up to 24 GB, and UFS 4.0. These are platform capabilities, not a guarantee that every phone using the chip includes the same memory capacity, storage, display, camera, or feature configuration. Qualcomm says, “Results will vary, depending on OEM implementation and other factors.” It also notes that the maximum CPU frequency varies by platform version. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 product brief
Qualcomm’s brief describes the CPU as one prime core up to 3.4 GHz, five performance cores up to 3.2 GHz, and two efficiency cores up to 2.3 GHz. These are stated maximums, not guaranteed sustained operating speeds. The cited materials do not provide an equivalent Google technical brief for Tensor G5, so the third-party Tensor specifications above should not be read as Google-published claims.

Geekbench’s live chart lists Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro as Tensor G5 devices. Its snapshot surfaced in 2026 showed user-submitted Geekbench 6 scores of 1,906 for Pixel 10 and 1,897 for Pixel 10 Pro; those chart results can change as submissions arrive and are not fixed lab measurements. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 appears in phones including OnePlus 12 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, according to 91mobiles. Check the exact model and region before relying on a chipset name: configurations can differ by market or handset variant. A chip comparison cannot substitute for comparing the specific phones’ displays, cameras, software support, battery capacity, and price.
Do these benchmarks show which chip lasts longer or runs cooler?
No. The cited sources do not establish a controlled, matched-device comparison of battery life, temperature, or sustained performance for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Tensor G5. A process label such as 3 nm versus 4 nm, or a peak benchmark score, cannot answer those questions by itself. For those priorities, look for tests that identify the exact phone models and compare them under the same workload and conditions.
