Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 currently leads the pooled benchmark scores cited here, but that does not prove every Snapdragon phone will outperform every Exynos 2100 phone. The chips differ in CPU and GPU design, while cooling, firmware, power limits, and other phone-specific choices shape real-world performance. For a particular handset, compare results from that device rather than relying on chip name alone.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vs Exynos 2100 specifications
Both are flagship mobile platforms announced in 2021. Qualcomm lists a Kryo 64-bit CPU with speeds up to 3GHz and Adreno graphics for Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Samsung specifies a 1+3+4 CPU arrangement for Exynos 2100, with Cortex-X1, Cortex-A78, and Cortex-A55 cores, plus a Mali-G78 MP14 GPU.

The listed maximum clock speeds are not a direct measure of which processor is faster: the chips use different CPU designs, and performance depends on workload and implementation. Likewise, the 4nm and 5nm process descriptions do not, on their own, establish which phone will be more power-efficient or run cooler.

Benchmark comparison: what the scores show
NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026, displays the following pooled results. The samples come from phones using each chip; they are not a controlled, same-device head-to-head test. NanoReview’s aggregate can change as submissions are added.
| Benchmark | Exynos 2100 | Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 | Context |

CPU and general performance
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has higher displayed Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core aggregates. Its AnTuTu 11 aggregate is also higher. Those results indicate an advantage in these pooled comparisons, not a guaranteed difference in every app or phone.
Graphics performance
The displayed 3DMark Wild Life Extreme score favors Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while NanoReview’s stability figures are close: 63% for Snapdragon and 64% for Exynos. The scores do not establish long-session game performance in every handset. Qualcomm’s launch claims about graphics improvements compare Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with its predecessor, not directly with Exynos 2100. Qualcomm’s November 30, 2021 launch release provides that company context.
Why one benchmark does not settle the comparison
The PCMark 3.0 aggregates are nearly tied, but the Exynos result is based on fewer than three phones, compared with 16 Snapdragon models on NanoReview’s page. Results vary by benchmark workload, and the available sample counts differ by test. Taken together, the figures favor Snapdragon in several listed tests, but they are not a universal ranking of everyday experience.

These pooled results cannot establish a sustained gaming, thermal, or battery-life winner. Phone cooling systems, firmware, power limits, RAM, screen resolution, and software all affect performance and energy use. NanoReview identifies the Xiaomi Poco F4 GT as the host phone for its Snapdragon gaming averages, so those figures should not be treated as representative of every Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 handset.
For a buying decision, look for tests of the exact phone models you are considering, ideally under comparable game settings, screen brightness, and testing conditions. A brief benchmark score cannot show how a handset behaves after extended use or how long its battery lasts.
Which chip should you choose?
If you are comparing chip-level benchmark results, the currently displayed NanoReview aggregates favor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in AnTuTu 11, Geekbench 6, and 3DMark Wild Life Extreme. Exynos 2100 remains close in the listed PCMark 3.0 aggregate, though that result has a particularly small Exynos sample.
If you are choosing between phones, compare the complete devices: sustained performance, battery tests, cooling, software support, camera implementation, and price matter more than the processor label alone. Samsung’s listed capabilities—including LPDDR5, UFS 3.1, and a triple-core NPU/DSP—are platform support, not a guarantee that every phone maker enables every feature. Qualcomm’s specifications similarly describe platform capabilities rather than the configuration of every handset. The chips were announced in January and November 2021, respectively, so their specifications are most useful when evaluating devices built around them, not as a current-generation ranking.
