For raw CPU benchmark performance, Snapdragon 8 Elite phones lead the cited Tensor G4 Pixel phones by a wide margin. But those scores come from specific phone tests, not a controlled comparison of the chips in identical devices. Choose between phones by weighing performance alongside software, features, thermals, connectivity, and support.
What the two platforms are designed for
Snapdragon 8 Elite
Qualcomm lists a 64-bit Qualcomm Oryon CPU, Adreno GPU, Hexagon NPU, and Snapdragon X80 5G Modem-RF for the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The platform specification lists CPU speeds up to 4.47 GHz and notes that a 4.32 GHz version is also available; maximum speed varies by platform version and device manufacturer. That means phones carrying the same platform name need not have identical CPU clocks, cooling, or performance. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite specifications
Qualcomm says the platform introduced its second-generation Oryon CPU. Its launch claims about gains over Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are Qualcomm’s own comparisons against that older platform, not evidence of a direct advantage over Tensor G4. Qualcomm’s October 2024 launch announcement

Google identifies Tensor G4 as the chip in Pixel 9 phones and says it was designed with Google DeepMind and optimized for Google’s AI models. Google also describes everyday uses such as opening apps and browsing the web. These are Google’s product-positioning statements; they do not establish an independently measured performance lead over Snapdragon in those tasks. Google’s Pixel 9 announcement

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
How the benchmark results compare
The clearest direct evidence in this comparison is CPU benchmark performance. Tom’s Guide reported these Geekbench 6 results for two phones:
| Phone and platform | Single-core | Multicore |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy S25, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy | 2,916 | 9,886 |
| Google Pixel 9, Tensor G4 | 1,758 | 4,594 |
In those reported device tests, the Galaxy S25 scored higher in both single-core and multicore Geekbench 6. The figures describe those phones and test runs—not every Snapdragon 8 Elite or Tensor G4 device, and not a chip-only test that removes differences in cooling, firmware, memory, and software. - SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
A separate view comes from Geekbench’s live Android chart, which is based on results submitted by device users. When accessed in 2026, the chart listed 2,475 single-core and 8,893 multicore for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and 1,548 single-core and 3,899 multicore for the Pixel 9 Pro XL. These are broad reference points, not matched review runs; submissions can change over time. Geekbench Android Benchmarks

What the scores establish—and what they do not
Across both cited comparisons, the Snapdragon-powered Samsung phones posted substantially higher CPU scores than the Tensor-powered Pixels. That makes Snapdragon 8 Elite the stronger choice on the available evidence if your priority is peak CPU benchmark performance.

CPU scores alone do not settle questions about graphics, gaming, heat, sustained performance, power use, or on-device AI throughput. The available evidence here does not provide independently controlled, matched results for those dimensions, so it cannot establish which platform lasts longer under load, runs cooler, or processes AI tasks faster. Qualcomm’s performance and efficiency language is a vendor claim, not an independent head-to-head result. Qualcomm’s launch announcement
Which phone should you choose?
Choose a Snapdragon 8 Elite phone if CPU speed is your priority
The cited Galaxy S25 tests favor Snapdragon 8 Elite for both single-core and multicore CPU performance. Treat the scores as evidence about that tested phone, especially because Qualcomm specifies multiple CPU speed versions and manufacturers determine device implementation.

Choose a Pixel 9 for Google’s phone experience and AI integration
Tensor G4 is Google’s Pixel-focused platform, and Google emphasizes its integration with the company’s AI models and Pixel features. That may matter more to your day-to-day choice than a benchmark lead, but the cited material does not prove that Tensor G4 delivers higher AI throughput.

Bottom line on Snapdragon 8 Elite vs Tensor G4
Snapdragon 8 Elite is ahead in the cited CPU benchmark results, but those results compare particular phones rather than isolated chips. If raw CPU scores are decisive, the evidence favors the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S25. If you value Google’s Pixel software and AI integration, compare the full Pixel experience with the specific Snapdragon phone you are considering; the benchmark gap alone cannot identify the better phone for everyone.
