Short answer: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 test phones scored higher than an A18 Pro iPhone in the benchmark comparisons cited here, but those results do not prove that the chip is universally faster. Scores differ among phones using the same Snapdragon platform, and the available comparisons do not provide matched gaming, thermal, or battery tests.
Specifications at a glance
| Platform | CPU information | Graphics information | Evidence and qualification |

Geekbench and AnTuTu results: what the numbers show
The clearest head-to-head figures in the available coverage come from 91mobiles’ tested devices. Its comparison page, accessed in 2026, reports these results:
| Test device and chip | Geekbench single-core | Geekbench multi-core | AnTuTu |
|---|---|---|---|
| 91mobiles’ Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 test device | 3,733 | 11,407 | 4,033,382 |
| 91mobiles’ A18 Pro test device | 3,317 | 8,115 | 1,774,620 |
These are the publisher’s readings for its test devices, not a controlled result isolating the processors from their phones. Different handset designs, configurations, cooling, software, and test conditions can affect scores. The retrieved comparison page does not expose a publication year, so these figures are identified as accessed in 2026 rather than assigned an inferred publication date. 91mobiles’ comparison
Geekbench Browser results vary by phone
Geekbench Browser currently identifies the iPhone 16 Pro with A18 Pro and lists a 7,801 Geekbench 6 multi-core result. For Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the browser lists an iQOO 15 multi-core score of 8,733 and a OnePlus 15 score of 7,623. These are device-level observations in a benchmark database, accessed in 2026—not a manufacturer-published statistical study or a guarantee of what every unit will score.

- FIT EVERYONE IN THE SHOT: Group selfies are easier on your Samsung phone with a wider front camera⁴ that captures more of the scene, so no one gets left out of the moment
The two Snapdragon phone results differ by more than a thousand multi-core points. That spread is a practical warning against treating a single phone’s score as the definitive performance of every phone built around the platform.
A separate comparison uses a leaked Snapdragon result
Beebom reports a separate Geekbench 6 comparison with 3,831 single-core and 11,525 multi-core for a Snapdragon result, versus 3,467 and 8,550 for A18 Pro. Beebom labels the Snapdragon figure as coming from a leaked Xiaomi 17 Pro listing. Because it is a separate report and the Snapdragon score is leak-based, do not combine it with 91mobiles’ readings as if both came from one controlled test series. Beebom’s benchmark comparison

What the graphics specifications do—and do not—establish
Qualcomm documents Adreno graphics capabilities, Unreal Engine 5 optimizations, and Vulkan 1.3 support for Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Those are vendor-stated capabilities, not independent measurements of game performance. The cited sources do not provide a matched cross-platform graphics test against A18 Pro, nor do they establish sustained frame rates, heat, or power use during long gaming sessions.

How to choose between phones using these chips
Use benchmark scores as one input, then evaluate the complete handset. A useful comparison checks:
- Exact model and configuration: Snapdragon CPU speed can vary by platform version, and Geekbench results differ among Snapdragon phones.
- Workload: Single-core and multi-core scores measure different kinds of CPU work; neither alone represents every app or game.
- Graphics under load: Look for comparable tests on the actual devices, including sustained performance and temperatures, rather than inferring a winner from API support.
- Daily-use priorities: Compare operating system and app preferences, battery life, cameras, price in your region, and software-support terms for the specific phones.
The available results favor the Snapdragon test devices in the cited CPU and AnTuTu comparisons, but they are not enough to declare a universal chip winner or recommend a phone on processor score alone.
