The Dimensity 7400X is the newer platform and has the higher AnTuTu score in a published comparison, while its manufacturer lists newer wireless features and a 4 nm-class process. That does not make it a guaranteed faster choice in every phone: chipset specifications describe capabilities, and a handset’s cooling, power settings, software and configuration affect real-world results.

How the published specifications compare

Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon 778G Plus as a 6 nm platform with a Kryo 670 CPU reaching up to 2.5 GHz and Adreno 642L graphics. MediaTek describes the Dimensity 7400X as a 4 nm-class chip, with four Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.6 GHz, four Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.

Specification Snapdragon 778G Plus Dimensity 7400X
Process 6 nm, per Qualcomm 4 nm-class, per MediaTek
CPU Kryo 670, up to 2.5 GHz Four Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.6 GHz, plus four Cortex-A55 cores
GPU Adreno 642L Mali-G615 MC2
Cellular Snapdragon X53 modem-RF; mmWave and sub-6 GHz, NSA/SA, TDD/FDD and DSS listed 5G Release 16 features, 3CC carrier aggregation and up to 3.27 Gbps peak downlink listed
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Wi-Fi 6 up to 2.9 Gbps; Bluetooth 5.2 Wi-Fi 6E; Bluetooth 5.4
Other listed platform capabilities Quick Charge 4+, Qualcomm AI Engine and Spectra 570L ISP Flip-phone dual-display support; camera sensors up to 200 MP, 4K30 capture, and WFHD+ at 120 Hz or Full HD+ at 144 Hz

These are manufacturer-listed platform capabilities, not a guarantee that a phone supports every feature. Phone makers choose what to implement, and cellular band support can vary by model and region. Check the exact handset configuration and carrier compatibility before buying. What the benchmark comparison shows

91mobiles lists an AnTuTu score of 676,447 for the Dimensity 7400X and 541,618 for the Snapdragon 778G Plus. Those reported values favor the 7400X in that comparison, but they are not evidence of a universal performance margin: the listing does not establish a controlled test of both chipsets in matched phones. Scores can vary with handset design, software, temperature, power limits and benchmark version.

The same 91mobiles page lists a Geekbench multi-core result of 2,486 for the Snapdragon 778G Plus, but does not provide a directly paired 7400X result there. It is therefore not a basis for a like-for-like Geekbench verdict. Avoid comparing these numbers with results from another source unless the test version and conditions are comparable. The figures are listed on 91mobiles’ processor comparison page; its publication year is not stated, and the scores were shown when accessed in 2026.

Why the phone matters as much as the chipset

Device listings associate the Motorola Razr (2025) with the Dimensity 7400X and the Nothing Phone (1) with the Snapdragon 778G+. Gadgets 360 also lists the Motorola Razr 60 with the Dimensity 7400X and the Honor 70 with the Snapdragon 778G Plus. These examples identify phones using each platform; because they are different devices, they cannot isolate the chipset’s effect on performance. Availability, regional versions and software support may differ by market. Listings include PhoneArena’s device performance table and Gadgets 360’s Razr 60 and Honor 70 comparison.

When comparing two phones you can actually buy

  • Look for sustained CPU and GPU performance, which reflects the phone’s cooling and power limits better than a peak clock figure alone.
  • Check the specific network bands and carrier compatibility for your country.
  • Compare the whole device: display, battery endurance, charging, camera implementation, memory and storage.
  • Check Android version, security-update commitment, build quality, warranty and current price.
  • Use benchmark scores as evidence only when the phones, benchmark version and test conditions are comparable.

Which one should you choose?

On the available evidence, the Dimensity 7400X has the stronger case if you are comparing platform generation and the reported AnTuTu result. The Snapdragon 778G Plus still has clearly documented capabilities, including its Adreno 642L GPU and listed modem features. Neither chipset name alone establishes which phone will be better for your needs. Choose between the complete handsets, weighing support and features that matter in your region alongside performance.

MediaTek describes the 7400X as providing “exclusive dual display support for flip phones.” That is a vendor statement about the platform; confirm the feature on the particular phone you are considering.
