Neither Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 nor Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is a clear winner in every test. Both are 4 nm platforms for mid-range phones, but comparison pages disagree on AnTuTu results: Geekbench 6 aggregates lean slightly toward the 7s Gen 3, while NanoReview’s 3DMark Steel Nomad Light results favor the 7 Gen 3. For a buying decision, the exact phone and its implementation matter more than the chipset name alone.
What the specifications show
Qualcomm identifies Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 as SM7550-AB and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 as SM7635. Both product briefs specify a 4 nm process and UFS 3.1 storage. They are mobile platforms built into smartphones, not standalone upgrades.

These are platform capabilities, not a guarantee that every phone includes every option. Qualcomm notes that availability can depend on carrier or OEM selection. Phone makers also choose memory configuration, cooling, power limits, display resolution, and software, all of which can affect what a user experiences.
Which chipset is faster in benchmarks?
The answer changes by benchmark and source. NanoReview’s live comparison, accessed October 7, 2026, shows a near tie in its AnTuTu 11 aggregate, a modest Geekbench 6 advantage for the 7s Gen 3, and a Steel Nomad Light advantage for the 7 Gen 3. 91mobiles’ reported AnTuTu totals instead give the 7 Gen 3 a much larger lead; its Geekbench 6 scores again favor the 7s Gen 3 by a small margin.

The AnTuTu figures come from different comparison-page pools and cannot be reconciled into one controlled head-to-head result. These are aggregated or site-reported scores, not tests of both chips in the same phone under identical conditions. Benchmark version, handset, cooling, software, memory, and sample selection can all affect scores. Do not treat a score difference as a promised difference in everyday speed or gaming.
How to interpret Qualcomm’s performance claims
The percentages in Qualcomm’s announcements are each framed against the company’s stated prior-generation baseline, not as direct measurements of these two chips against one another.

- For Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, Qualcomm’s August 20, 2024 announcement claimed nearly 20% improved CPU performance, up to 40% accelerated GPU performance, over 30% better AI performance, and 12% overall power savings.
Because the claims use their own generational comparisons, they do not establish which chip is faster, more efficient, or better for AI in a direct 7 Gen 3 versus 7s Gen 3 comparison.

For gaming
The cited Steel Nomad Light result favors Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, but it is a benchmark result from different sample pools, not a guarantee of better sustained gaming in every phone. Compare reviews of the exact handset, especially sustained performance and heat behavior, rather than selecting by chipset label alone.

For everyday performance
The Geekbench 6 aggregates on both comparison pages favor Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 by relatively small margins, while AnTuTu results conflict. That evidence does not support a universal winner for app launches, multitasking, or general responsiveness.
When comparing phones
Check the exact model and regional variant before buying. Compare its memory configuration, cooling, software support, display, battery, and price alongside the chipset. Historical OEM announcements do not establish that a particular model is currently available in your market.

Bottom line
Both are 4 nm mid-range platforms with UFS 3.1 support, and the benchmark evidence is mixed. The 7s Gen 3 edges the cited Geekbench aggregates, the 7 Gen 3 leads NanoReview’s Steel Nomad Light result, and the AnTuTu comparisons disagree substantially. Choose based on the complete phone and reliable tests of that specific model, not on an assumed hierarchy in the names.
