Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is ahead in the cited CPU and AnTuTu comparisons, and it has a 5G modem platform; Helio G99 is a 4G chip with capable mid-range features. That makes connectivity the clearest practical difference. For speed, the benchmark evidence favors Snapdragon, but scores are not a guarantee of how two complete phones will perform. For gaming and overall value, compare the specific handsets rather than choosing by processor name alone.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 vs Helio G99 at a glance
| Specification | Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 | MediaTek Helio G99 |
|---|---|---|

These are platform specifications, not a complete phone specification. The manufacturer decides which display, memory, storage, battery, camera, cooling and software configuration to pair with a chip. A process-node figure alone does not establish battery life or speed.
Does Helio G99 support 5G?
No. MediaTek positions Helio G99 as a 4G platform. Qualcomm lists a Snapdragon X51 5G modem-RF system for Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, so Snapdragon is the clear choice between these two if 5G is a requirement.

Supported bands and network compatibility depend on the exact handset model and market. Check the phone’s regional specifications and your carrier’s bands before buying. Qualcomm’s “up to 2.5 Gbps” peak download figure is a platform specification, not an expected everyday speed.

Which is faster: Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 or Helio G99?
The available CPU benchmark comparisons favor Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, particularly in single-core results. Its comparison-listed performance cores are Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.3 GHz, while Helio G99 uses Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.2 GHz. Both listings specify six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores up to 2.0 GHz.
In 91Mobiles’ comparison, Geekbench scores are 936 single-core and 2,213 multi-core for Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, versus 575 and 1,766 for Helio G99. The page describes these as 91Mobiles tests, but does not establish that the phones were matched or tested under controlled, identical conditions. See 91Mobiles’ comparison.

NanoReview reports Geekbench 6 averages of 938 single-core and 2,183 multi-core for Snapdragon, compared with 727 and 2,047 for Helio G99. Its displayed averages draw on six Snapdragon test results and 82 G99 results, so the sample sizes differ substantially. These database results are useful for orientation, not a promise that every phone will reproduce the scores. See NanoReview’s comparison and sample counts.
How do their AnTuTu scores compare?
Both cited comparison pages report a higher AnTuTu result for Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, but their totals should be read within each publisher’s comparison rather than mixed together.

| Source and version | Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 | Helio G99 |
|---|---|---|
| 91Mobiles comparison; version not stated on the cited page | 471,687 | 380,698 |
| NanoReview, AnTuTu 11; displayed averages from 31 Snapdragon and 313 G99 tests | 617,626 | 554,590 |
The totals differ because the comparisons use different sources and, in NanoReview’s case, a labeled benchmark version and database averages. They are not directly interchangeable. Neither comparison establishes a controlled test of matched retail phones with identical software, temperature, battery and benchmark conditions.
Is Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 better for gaming?
The benchmark evidence does not establish a universal gaming winner. The comparison listing names an Adreno 619 GPU for Snapdragon and a Mali-G57 MC2 for Helio G99; a higher listed GPU clock, where shown, does not by itself tell you which chip will deliver better frame rates in a particular game.

NanoReview’s G99 game-FPS figures are from a G99 device, not a matched comparison against a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 phone. Its page notes that results can vary with game version, operating system and other factors. For a real purchase, look for gaming tests of the exact phone models you are considering, including sustained play rather than only a short benchmark run. Cooling, power limits and manufacturer tuning can affect performance over time.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 platform capabilities
Qualcomm lists a 2.3 GHz CPU clock, the Snapdragon X51 5G modem-RF system and Quick Charge 4+ technology support. Charging speed in a retail phone depends on the maker’s implementation, charger, battery and software; support for the technology alone does not establish a particular charge time. Check Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 specifications.
How to choose between phones using these chips
- Decide whether 5G is necessary. If it is, Helio G99 is not suitable; then confirm the exact Snapdragon phone supports the bands used in your region.
- Compare the exact handset models. Display quality and refresh rate, battery capacity, camera hardware, RAM, storage, software support and price can matter more to daily use than a modest benchmark gap.
- Check performance evidence for your workload. For gaming, prioritize sustained tests of the exact phone and games you use. For general responsiveness, the cited CPU comparisons favor Snapdragon, but phone tuning and cooling still matter.
- Verify the model and regional variant. Phone families can use different chipsets or network configurations in different markets. Confirm the full model number and specification sheet before purchase.
For orientation, 91Mobiles lists the Moto G85 among phones using Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and lists Samsung Galaxy A/F/M models among Helio G99 examples. Those listings are not recommendations or proof of current availability; confirm the chipset in the specific local variant. See the device examples in the 91Mobiles listing.
