The available evidence does not establish a definitive performance winner between Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and Dimensity 6360 Max. Qualcomm and MediaTek publish platform specifications and performance claims, but the available Dimensity 6360 Max benchmark results are from tested phones, and there is no controlled test of both chips under the same conditions. The specifications can still help you compare platform capabilities—provided you keep the “6360 Max” naming distinction in view.

Specifications at a glance

Specification Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Dimensity 6360 / 6360 Max
CPU 64-bit Kryo CPU, up to 2.4 GHz. Qualcomm’s listed specifications do not give a core-by-core arrangement. Qualcomm’s specifications note multiple variants, so part number and phone configuration matter. MediaTek specifies Dimensity 6360 as 2 × Cortex-A76 up to 2.4 GHz plus 6 × Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz. Its official page is for Dimensity 6360, not a separately detailed 6360 Max SKU.
GPU Adreno; Qualcomm describes a rendering improvement against its stated predecessor baseline. Mali-G57 MC2, specified on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 page.
Memory and storage Qualcomm notes support for LPDDR5X parts up to the LPDDR5 maximum frequency of 3.2 GHz. Check the phone maker’s specifications for the actual memory configuration. LPDDR4x memory up to 2133 MHz and UFS 2.2, as listed for Dimensity 6360.
Connectivity 5G modem features and FastConnect support for Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4. MediaTek lists 5G capabilities, peak download speed up to 3.3 Gbps, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Display and camera platform support Qualcomm describes camera and display capabilities; the final configuration depends on the phone manufacturer. MediaTek lists support for refresh rates up to 120 Hz and native camera resolution up to 108 MP. The phone maker determines what is implemented.

Specifications are platform capabilities, not a guarantee that every phone using a chip includes every feature. Qualcomm also cautions that Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 has multiple variants and that performance and specifications can vary by platform version and part number. MediaTek’s published specifications describe Dimensity 6360; they should not be treated as confirmation that every detail is identical on a separately named 6360 Max implementation.

What the benchmark figures show—and what they do not

91mobiles reports the following Dimensity 6360 Max results from device testing: 651,333 in AnTuTu, 784 in Geekbench 6 single-core, and 2,042 in Geekbench 6 multi-core. The site describes 651,333 as its highest recorded AnTuTu score from a device with this chip; it also lists AnTuTu component scores of 233,318 for CPU, 47,794 for GPU, 179,323 for memory and 190,898 for UX. These are publisher-reported device results, not scores guaranteed for every phone. See 91mobiles’ Dimensity 6360 Max benchmark page.

There is no clearly matched Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 result in the available evidence using the same phone conditions and benchmark versions. Comparing the Dimensity figures above with a Snapdragon score from another handset or database would not produce a controlled chip-to-chip result. Phone cooling, memory configuration, software, display resolution and manufacturer tuning can all affect scores and everyday performance.

How to interpret the manufacturers’ performance claims

The percentages published by Qualcomm and MediaTek use different comparison baselines, so they are not a shared benchmark and cannot be ranked against each other.

  • Qualcomm claims up to 10% CPU improvement, over 30% faster graphics rendering and over 20% AI improvement for Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 against Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. These are Qualcomm’s stated comparisons, not an independent head-to-head test against Dimensity 6360 Max. Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 product page.
  • MediaTek claims up to 57% better gaming performance and up to 19% better gaming power efficiency against “direct alternative smartphone chipsets,” without naming the comparison model on its cited page. These are MediaTek claims, not results from a test against Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. MediaTek Dimensity 6360 product page.

Which one should you choose?

These chip names alone are not enough to identify the better phone or predict which will feel faster. Compare the specific handsets you are considering: check their memory and storage, display resolution, cooling design, software support and the exact connectivity and camera features the manufacturer enables.

For example, 91mobiles lists the OPPO F33 Pro 5G among phones powered by Dimensity 6360 Max. That identifies a handset using the chip; it does not, by itself, establish current retail availability or make the phone a recommendation. 91mobiles’ listing and benchmark information.
