SmartSlydr is a motorized retrofit opener for an existing sliding glass door or window. Before choosing one, confirm which panel moves, whether it moves inward or outward, and how much opening you need: the standard unit is not designed for a standard outside-moving panel, and the manufacturer directs that setup to SmartSlydr Regal. The device offers app and voice control, but fit, Wi-Fi, mounting clearance, and optional accessories matter as much as its smart-home features.
What SmartSlydr does
SmartSlydr is designed to open and close an existing sliding glass door or window using a motorized unit mounted to the frame and moving panel. LycheeThings describes the installation as a retrofit that does not require permanent modifications. The product page lists an inbuilt smart lock, automatic calibration, smart-sensor integration, and control through its smartphone app, voice assistants, and Apple Watch. It is intended for hands-free operation, including accessibility use. Although the product page uses the phrase “ADA-compliant,” the available information does not establish independent ADA certification or a standards-body assessment. Treat the phrase as manufacturer marketing rather than verified compliance.

Panel direction is a key compatibility check
The standard SmartSlydr is not compatible with a standard panel that moves outward. LycheeThings points customers with that layout to SmartSlydr Regal, a distinct configuration described as custom length and fitted with custom adapters. Do not assume the standard unit will work simply because the door is a sliding glass door; identify the moving panel and its direction first.

Opening range and unit dimensions
The manufacturer lists the following size options. These are published specifications, not independent measurements:

Confirm the selected configuration and usable opening directly with LycheeThings rather than relying on either maximum alone.

The manufacturer says one device can automate one panel in a three-panel door. For a four-panel door, it says one device automates one moving panel and two devices can automate two moving panels. Verify the layout and intended operation for your own door before ordering.
Controls, Wi-Fi, and optional accessories
The product page lists app control, Alexa and Google Home voice control, and Apple Watch support. It also says users can set an opening width from 1% to 100% in 1% increments and lists normal-mode movement speed at approximately 45 mm per second. These are vendor-stated functions and specifications.

LycheeThings says SmartSlydr needs a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and its app, but does not require a separate hub. The product page also lists Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This does not establish universal compatibility with every smart-home system, so check that the controls you rely on are supported before purchase. Current shipping information is limited to the United States, according to the LycheeThings company site; confirm availability at checkout.

What the manufacturer says about safety and manual use
LycheeThings describes an obstruction response in which the unit retracts when it detects an obstruction, retries, and, if the obstruction remains, stays open and sends an app notification. The company also describes the unit as self-locking when closed and says an inside cord provides a manual emergency release.
Those descriptions explain the manufacturer’s intended behavior; they do not establish independent safety testing, certification, or regulatory assessment. Do not treat the claims as proof that the device is independently certified or safe for every household, door, or use case.

Installation and practical fit checks
The manufacturer FAQ says installation uses two brackets and a screwdriver, with a corner cap attached to the moving panel. It recommends checking clearance around blinds and says extender brackets are available. The official SmartSlydr installation-guide index separates instructions by inside- and outside-moving-panel configurations. Use the current guide for your precise layout; the outside-moving-panel instructions do not make the standard model compatible with that setup.
- Identify the moving panel: determine which panel opens and whether it moves inward or outward.
- Measure the opening and mounting area: compare the needed clear opening and available surface with the selected unit’s published range and length.
- Check obstructions: look for blinds, trim, handles, or other features that could interfere with mounting or movement; ask about extender brackets if clearance is tight.
- Choose how you will operate it: decide whether app, voice, or Apple Watch control is sufficient, and whether pet tags or a separate button are needed.
- Confirm service and purchase terms: check Wi-Fi requirements, shipping eligibility, the current package, warranty terms, price, and stock with the seller.
Price and warranty can change
At the time the product page was captured for this article’s source review on September 28, 2026, standard SmartSlydr was listed at $599 with a one-year warranty. The page also listed extensions to two total years for $59 or three total years for $99. These are time-sensitive offer details, not guaranteed current prices or terms; check the live product listing before purchasing. SmartSlydr Regal is a separate configuration; the search result showed $799, but that price should also be verified on the live listing before relying on it.
