As of October 2026, the listings reviewed do not confirm a conventional Android smartphone that is both available and purchasable for under ₹5,000 in India. The main Android candidate is marked “Upcoming,” while several other phones in budget roundups are feature phones, not Android smartphones. Check the category and current stock before treating a listed price as a buying option.
What counts as a smartphone under ₹5,000?
For this guide, “under ₹5,000” means a price below ₹5,000 in India, in Indian rupees. A conventional Android smartphone should run Android and support the apps and everyday tasks buyers generally expect from a smartphone. A phone with a touchscreen is not necessarily an Android smartphone: touch feature phones and keypad feature phones serve different needs.
That distinction matters in current budget lists. Beebom’s October 7, 2026 roundup includes keypad phones alongside the HMD Touch 4G, while MySmartPrice lists the Touch 4G and two Nokia feature phones. Those listings are useful if you want a basic calling or secondary phone, but they do not establish a selection of conventional Android smartphones below the price cap. Beebom’s roundup and MySmartPrice’s list show why checking the device category is essential.

Smartprix’s price list, last updated October 7, 2026, shows the Infinix Smart 10 HD at ₹4,999 and labels it “Upcoming.” Its listing gives Android 14, 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, a 5,000 mAh battery, a 6.6-inch 720 × 1612 display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. These are listed specifications, not confirmation that the phone has launched or is in stock. Treat it as a lead to check, not a confirmed purchase recommendation. See Smartprix’s under-₹5,000 list.

Touch feature phone: HMD Touch 4G
The HMD Touch 4G appears in India listings around ₹3,999, but it is a basic touch feature phone, not a conventional Android smartphone. Beebom lists a 3.2-inch QVGA TFT display, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB storage and a 1,950 mAh battery. Gadgets Now lists the Unisoc T127 processor and a 2 MP rear camera alongside the same memory, display size and battery figures. The available specifications do not support presenting it as an Android phone or assuming compatibility with Android apps. Beebom and Gadgets Now list the device and its specifications.
Keypad feature phones for basic calling
Beebom’s list includes the HMD 130 Music at ₹1,899, HMD 150 Music at ₹2,249, HMD 100 at ₹1,049 and HMD 101 at ₹1,069. These are keypad feature phones for basic calling or use as a secondary phone; their inclusion in a price roundup does not make them substitutes for an Android smartphone. Prices are listing figures, so check the retailer’s current price and stock. Beebom’s list provides the cited models and prices.
Why the listed prices may not match at checkout
Price-comparison pages are snapshots rather than guarantees of the amount you can pay. For example, MySmartPrice lists the HMD Touch 4G at ₹4,049, the Nokia 235 4G (2024) at ₹3,999 and the Nokia 220 4G (2024) at ₹3,599. Other listings put the Touch 4G at ₹3,999. MySmartPrice notes that prices vary by store and location and deals can change day to day. Check MySmartPrice’s current list, then verify the specific retailer’s checkout total.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat to check before buying
- Confirm the category and operating system. Check the product page for Android and the exact model name. A touchscreen or a “smartphone under ₹5,000” roundup headline alone does not establish that it is an Android smartphone.
- Verify availability. Confirm that the exact model and variant are in stock and can be delivered to your location. An “Upcoming” listing is not proof of current availability.
- Check the final price. Compare the retailer’s checkout total with the listing price, including any delivery charges or conditions attached to an offer.
- Confirm the variant, warranty and seller. Make sure the RAM and storage match the listing you intend to buy, and review the seller and warranty terms before ordering.
- Check whether it supports the apps and network features you need. Do not infer Android app compatibility from a touchscreen, model name or feature-phone listing.
If no confirmed Android option fits the budget
If you need a conventional Android phone and cannot confirm an available model below ₹5,000, consider whether you can increase your budget rather than treating a feature phone as an equivalent. A used or refurbished handset is another possible route, but the cited listings do not establish its safety or value. Assess the device’s condition, seller, warranty and return terms independently before choosing that route.
