Slackmojis is a directory for finding custom emoji to use in Slack. Its alternatives serve different jobs: browsing Slack-focused emoji, searching and copying emoji, creating images, or choosing an emoji set. If you already have an image that meets Slack’s requirements, you may not need a third-party directory at all.

Which type of alternative fits your workflow?
For browsing Slack-ready emoji
Slackmoji is the most directly relevant option in this group if you want a directory focused on finding emoji for Slack. Product Hunt’s alternatives page is useful for discovering names, but it does not confirm that each candidate is currently maintained or that its listed features still work.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFor quick search and copy
Emoji express and Emoji Keyboard are described as ways to find or copy emoji. That can suit a workflow where you need an emoji character rather than a custom image uploaded to a Slack workspace. Confirm on the product’s own current site whether it supports the platforms and search methods you need.

For making or combining images
My Slack Emoji and Emoji Combiner are described as creation-oriented tools. Check the resulting image against Slack’s file requirements before uploading it.
For reusable emoji artwork
Sensa Emoji and Fluent Emoji are listed as emoji-set or design resources. The listing labels them open-source, but that alone is not enough to establish the current license or permitted use of a particular asset. Review the applicable license and terms before using artwork commercially.

Slack’s built-in custom emoji may be enough
Slack supports adding individual custom emoji and emoji packs, as well as aliases that give an emoji an alternate shortcode. Its help center says JPG, PNG, and GIF images are supported; square images under 128 KB with transparent backgrounds work best, and GIFs can contain up to 50 frames. See Slack’s guide to custom emoji and aliases.

Check who can add emoji
Slack says custom emoji creation is available on all plans and, by default, any member except guests can create them. Workspace and organization owners can change who may add or delete emoji, so the defaults may not match your workspace’s settings. See Slack’s custom emoji permission guide.
If you cannot add an emoji, ask a workspace owner or administrator about your permissions before switching tools. A third-party directory or image editor does not override Slack’s workspace controls.

How to choose and verify an alternative
- Identify the job: Decide whether you need discovery, search and copying, image creation, or a reusable emoji set.
- Check current availability: Product Hunt’s alternatives page is a discovery list, not confirmation that a product remains available or supported.
- Confirm platform compatibility: Verify that the candidate works with your Slack setup or the device and workflow you use.
- Review the upload path: Find out how the tool delivers files and whether you can get an image into your workspace in a usable format.
- Check licensing and terms: For emoji artwork, especially for commercial use, confirm the current terms for the specific assets you plan to use.
- Consider workspace administration: If your goal is adding or managing emoji, check whether your role has permission and whether aliases or pack-level controls matter to your team.
Product Hunt records Slackmoji as launched in 2015, but a launch date does not establish its current status or capabilities. Product-specific pricing and detailed feature comparisons are not established by the available listings; check each candidate’s current official site before relying on it.
