To reach the 10th floor in CEG HQ, open lockbox 36 with 486, use the employee code inside to access the Security Room with keypad code 4895, then enter employee code 00007820518 at the Security Room computer. Generate and collect the access card, then take the elevator to floor 10. This puzzle walkthrough is based on a published guide; Konami’s official announcement confirms the game and platforms, not these puzzle solutions.
Before you leave the CEG HQ lobby
After the arrival cutscenes, you are in the ground-floor lobby. A walkthrough by Sportskeeda reports that you cannot leave CEG HQ or save again until you reach the Security Room, so take time to orient yourself and collect any clues you want before proceeding. The same guide recommends picking up the map behind the desk and reading the CEG Notice and Inquiry Preparation Notice.
Collect the two clues that lead to lockbox 36
- Go behind the podium in the main room and pick up the “Box IDs and Names” document. With hints enabled, it associates Richard with lockbox 36.
- Enter the nearby Maintenance Room. Inspect the dry-erase board, then open the desk and collect the “Grid of Codes” document. The walkthrough says to read the code sheet from bottom to top.
Open lockbox 36 and get the employee code
Use 486 on lockbox 36. Inside, collect the Employee File Cover Notice and note the employee code 00007820518; you will need it at the Security Room computer. The walkthrough warns that opening other boxes can damage Simon, so do not guess at another lockbox.
Unlock the Security Room
Use keypad code 4895 at the Security Room door. The walkthrough derives it from the arrows on the Maintenance Room dry-erase board: follow the arrows from 4 across the keypad.
#1 Best Overall
- Experienced entirely in first person, explore, evade, and survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged.
- SILENT HILL: Townfall is a full-length, self-contained psychological horror set against the cold, isolated backdrop of Scotland, 1996
Make and collect the access card
Optional: read the computer messages
The Tuner minigame is optional for getting the access card and provides additional Richard lore. If you want the related documents, read both messages on the computer nearest the Tuner; the walkthrough identifies them as “Urgent Message” and “Out of Hours Access.”
Generate the card
- At the other computer, choose “Search for User.”
- Enter 00007820518.
- Generate the Access Card and confirm the prompts.
- Collect the card from the nearby machine.
Take the elevator to floor 10
With the access card collected, use the elevator and select floor 10.

Optional ground-floor document checks
If you are collecting documents rather than heading straight upstairs, check the podium, Maintenance Room, and Security Room before leaving this ground-floor section. TechWiser independently places “Box IDs and Names” at the podium and “Grid of Codes” in Maintenance; its location guide also lists a Security Room trash clue and the two computer messages.
