Find the unpowered flashlight in a ground-floor drawer beside the organ box, then search the small cabinet drawer in the upstairs second room on the left for AA Batteries. Combine the two items in your inventory to make the flashlight usable.
Where to find the flashlight
On the ground floor of Zoe’s House, look in the drawer beside or just to the left of the organ box. The item is listed as Flashlight (No Batteries), so it will not work until you find the separate battery item. This location is consistent across the focused item guides: PowerPyx’s Part 1 collectible guide and Nerdschalk’s Zoe’s House guide.

Where to find the AA Batteries
Go upstairs and check the small cabinet drawer in the second room on the left. PowerPyx and the Zoe’s House power guide identify that drawer as the battery location.

#1 Best Overall
- Day One Edition Bonus: CRTV Style: Rusted, CRTV Style: Beach Edition
- Returning to an island town to ‘put things right’, Simon Ordell descends into a world of tense evasion, explosive confrontations, and mind-bending puzzles that slowly surface the truth of St. Amelia
- Simon Ordell is called back to the island of St. Amelia to ‘put things right’, encountering a town lying quiet beneath a heavy fog, seemingly abandoned but not at rest
- Venturing deeper, and driven to understand his connection to the place and its inhabitants, Simon begins to discover fragments of a past rising to the surface
- Experienced entirely in first person, Simon must explore, evade, and survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including the CRTV, a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged
How to use the flashlight
- Open your inventory after collecting both the unpowered flashlight and the AA Batteries.
- Combine the two items. The result is a working flashlight; the batteries are an in-game item, so you do not need real AA batteries.
- Use the light to look into the dark crawlspace beside the stairs, where a clue is located.
These locations are reported by gameplay guides rather than an official game manual, so the upstairs room discrepancy is worth keeping in mind if the drawer is empty.
