Siena announced a $17 million Series A on October 6, 2026, to expand its AI customer-experience platform into what it calls an “Agent of Record”: a shared customer-context layer for AI agents and human teams. The round was led by York IE, with participation from Joyance Ventures and existing investors Aglaé Ventures, Sierra Ventures, and Super Angel Fund. Siena says the financing brings its total funding to $29.7 million.

What is Siena AI?

Siena sells AI software for consumer brands. Its latest funding announcement describes a shift from automating customer-support interactions toward connecting service, shopping, social, voice, retention, and customer analysis through shared customer information. The $17 million round is intended to support more autonomous agents and the infrastructure Siena says will link them.

The funding announcement does not establish that the product vision is complete or that reported customer outcomes will hold across the market. Siena’s customer counts, interaction totals, product capabilities, and case-study results below are company-reported unless otherwise noted.

What does Siena’s “Agent of Record” do?

“Agent of Record” is Siena’s name for a shared layer that draws on a brand’s existing systems and combines customer conversations with information such as orders, subscriptions, reviews, loyalty data, and brand knowledge. Siena says its agents can add what a customer asked, what action the agent took, and whether that action worked, allowing later interactions and internal teams to use that context.

The idea is to connect a customer’s activity across departments, rather than keep each interaction isolated in a service or sales tool. For example, a brand could use a customer’s question on social media alongside purchase and return history when making a later recommendation. Siena also says its workspace and Slack can be used to query this information, and that MCP access can make it available to other tools and agents. These are descriptions of Siena’s product approach, not an independently established definition of the “Agent of Record” category.

How do Siena’s agents connect customer service and shopping?

Siena describes its agents as sharing customer context across different kinds of work. A customer might ask a product question in a shopping conversation, receive support after ordering, and later contact a brand through social media. Siena’s intended shared layer would let agents and employees use the relevant history across those touchpoints, rather than treating each one as a separate relationship.

Shopping and social

Siena says its Shopping Agent can answer product questions, recommend items, and help complete purchases in a conversation. Its Social Agent is described as handling moderation, community engagement, and support through comments and direct messages.

Human oversight and agent management

The company also describes shared human-and-AI workflows, live-traffic A/B testing, a Quality Suite, and Autopilot tools for building agents. Siena’s official site marks some offerings as “Coming soon,” so these descriptions should not be read as confirmation that every feature is generally available.

Integrations and pricing approach

Siena lists Shopify, Zendesk, Yotpo, and Recharge as integrations. Its announcement also refers to connecting order, subscription, review, loyalty, and brand-knowledge information, but the reviewed pages do not explain integration depth, technical limitations, or implementation requirements.

Siena says it charges for outcomes and intelligence rather than per seat, and that its help desk is included. It has not published a rate card, contract terms, or a competitor comparison in the announcement. For a buyer, useful points to verify include which systems connect, how customer context moves between channels, what policy controls and human review are available, how outcome claims are measured, and how costs scale.

Who led Siena’s Series A?

York IE led the $17 million Series A. Joyance Ventures and existing investors Aglaé Ventures, Sierra Ventures, and Super Angel Fund also participated. Siena’s October 6, 2026 announcement says the round brings total funding to $29.7 million.

What customer traction and results does Siena report?

Siena says it works with hundreds of brands, including SPANX, FIGS, HexClad, and Comfrt, and has automated hundreds of millions of customer interactions. Those scale figures come from the company; the announcement does not provide an independent market-wide measure of AI-agent adoption or effectiveness.

Eskiin: social engagement and response time

Siena says its Social Agent helped Eskiin increase weekly comment engagement from roughly 1,600 to 2,400 and return at least 15 hours a week to the brand’s social lead. Siena also says weekend responses that had previously taken 48 hours arrived in under a minute. A Business Wire release carried by VentureBeat summarizes the engagement change as a 50% increase and the time saved as 15 hours weekly. These are vendor-reported customer results, not independently audited impact figures.

Coterie, SPANX, and a consumer-goods example

Siena says customer analysis for Coterie that previously took several hours was reduced to ten minutes. At SPANX, the company says its analysis found shipping complaints concentrated in one region; the team traced the issue to a carrier problem affecting nearly every delivery there. Siena also describes an unnamed consumer packaged-goods customer whose agent surfaced early feedback about a manufacturing defect. These examples illustrate the kinds of patterns Siena says its tools can surface, but they do not establish typical results for other brands.

What the funding announcement means for brands

The round gives Siena capital to pursue a broader product strategy: moving from individual support automation toward shared context across customer-facing agents and brand teams. Whether that approach is useful for a particular company depends on its existing systems, the availability and scope of the required integrations, the controls for human oversight, and the evidence behind the vendor’s outcome claims. Siena’s announcement signals its direction; it does not by itself verify feature availability or prove that the reported examples will generalize.
