The Shure MV6 USB Gaming Microphone Gen 2 adds adjustable denoising, a five-band EQ, and voice presets to Shure’s USB gaming mic lineup. Shure announced it on September 30, 2026, at launch prices of $169 in the US, £159 in the UK, and €150 in Europe. Those are announced launch prices, not confirmed current street prices. The available evidence establishes the feature set and package contents, but not independent Gen 2 sound or performance results.
What changed in the MV6 Gen 2?
Shure presents the Gen 2 as a USB microphone for gaming, streaming, and content creation. Its announced additions focus on software-controlled sound shaping and noise management:
- Adjustable real-time denoising: Shure says users can adjust noise reduction while speaking. No independent test establishes how much noise it removes or whether it changes voice quality.
- Five-band EQ and tone choices: A customizable five-band equalizer and Dark, Natural, and Bright tone options provide ways to shape the microphone’s sound.
- Application presets: Speech, Singing, and Instrument presets are intended for different uses. Shure’s product materials list them as options; independent evidence does not establish how they sound in practice.
Shure also lists digital pop filtering, automatic level adjustment, a tap-to-mute control, and zero-latency monitoring through a 3.5 mm headphone jack. What comes in the box, and how can you mount it?
The package includes the microphone, a color-matched desktop stand with an isolation base, and a 2 m USB-C-to-USB-C cable. That means you can start with the included stand; a boom arm is optional, not a required extra.

If you prefer to position the microphone off the desk, Shure says it can be removed from the stand and attached to a standard boom arm using its universal 5/8-inch thread. Whether the included stand fits a crowded desk depends on your available space and preferred mic position; no independent Gen 2 setup test establishes its footprint or stability.
Is $169 a fair price beside other USB microphones?
Shure announced launch prices of $169 USD, £159 GBP, and €150 EUR. Check current local pricing and availability before buying, since those figures are launch prices rather than verified current retail prices. Shure said the microphone would be available through its store and authorized retailers.
Windows Central places the Razer Seiren V3 Chroma 32-bit and HyperX QuadCast 2 S in a similar price bracket, but the cited coverage does not provide equivalent controlled tests that would establish which is the better buy. Compare the features that matter in your setup rather than assuming the prices imply equal performance:

Coverage of the original MV6 can provide historical context, but its listening impressions should not be treated as results for this second-generation model. The PC Gamer review of the first-generation MV6 is not a Gen 2 test.
What should you expect from denoising and the presets?
Shure advertises adjustable denoising, EQ, tone choices, and application presets, but the available independent coverage does not establish how the denoiser performs in a noisy room, what it does to voice quality, or how easy the controls are to configure. Those are important questions for a review, but they cannot be answered reliably from the feature list alone.
Likewise, the product’s pop filtering and automatic level adjustment are listed capabilities, not proof of how well the microphone handles plosives or changing speaking volume in a particular room. If those behaviors are decisive for you, look for an independent Gen 2 listening test rather than transferring conclusions from the first MV6.

Will it work with your computer or phone?
Shure lists PC, Mac, iOS, and Android compatibility. Its product page gives these minimum requirements for the named MOTIV software:
- Windows: MOTIV Mix for Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.
- Mac: MOTIV Mix for macOS 14 or later, 64-bit.
- iOS: MOTIV Audio and Video apps for iOS 17 or later.
- Android: MOTIV Audio and Video apps for Android OS 14 or later.
Software requirements can change, so confirm the current compatibility details on Shure’s product page before setup. The listed compatibility does not, by itself, establish how every app or device combination behaves.

The announced combination of a desktop stand, USB-C connection, tap-to-mute control, headphone monitoring, and software sound options is aimed at a straightforward desktop setup. For a first external mic for gaming or Discord, the included stand and cable mean you do not need to start by buying a boom arm. If desk space or microphone positioning is a concern, the standard 5/8-inch mount gives you the option to add a compatible arm.

Do not assume that a review of the original MV6 tests or describes these Gen 2 additions.
