First, choose the right kind of WiiM product
WiiM sells three different types of audio products: streamers that add streaming to existing audio equipment, amplifiers that drive passive speakers, and self-contained wireless smart speakers. For an all-in-one speaker you can place in a room, WiiM Sound and Sound Lite are the direct choices. The Amp Ultra is a different route: it powers separate passive speakers rather than acting as a standalone wireless speaker.
WiiM Sound
Sound is the all-in-one option if you want a WiiM wireless speaker and the option to pair two units for stereo. It can also be grouped with other WiiM devices for synchronized playback.
WiiM Sound Lite
Sound Lite is the compact, display-free alternative. The available product information does not establish a current sale price for it, so check its local listing rather than assuming it shares a discount with Sound.

Amp Ultra with passive speakers
Choose the Amp Ultra path if you want an amplifier to power separate passive speakers. It is not a wireless all-in-one speaker, and you should account for the cost of the speakers as well as compatibility with the system. WiiM describes Amp Ultra as a 100W amplifier; that specification does not make it interchangeable with Sound.
What multi-room playback does—and its limits
WiiM’s help documentation says compatible WiiM devices can be grouped for synchronized audio, and two devices can be assigned left and right channels for stereo. That makes the Sound models relevant if you are extending a WiiM setup to another room or building a stereo pair.

There is an important format limit: WiiM’s current help article states that multi-room playback is limited to 48 kHz/16-bit. A product’s separate hi-res capability should not be read as a promise that every grouped, whole-home stream plays at hi-res quality. In its March 9, 2026 review, What Hi-Fi? praised WiiM Sound’s feature breadth, interface, and design, and reported that two units worked harmoniously as a stereo pair in its review setup and could be grouped with other WiiM devices. The review’s main reservation was sound quality: it said the speaker needed substantial retuning to challenge class leaders, awarding sound 3/5, features 5/5, and build 5/5. That trade-off matters if the reason for upgrading is better listening rather than adding rooms or gaining WiiM features. Compare the Sound with the speakers you already own and consider whether you value its system integration and design enough to accept the review’s sound-quality caveat. How to judge the October Prime Big Deal Days offer

Do not transfer prices reported for other WiiM products to these speakers.
