Do not assume related RF442 models have the same specifications
Fisher & Paykel’s Australian page for the RF442BRPX6—a different suffix in the RF442 family—lists 413 L total volume, with 294 L refrigerator and 119 L freezer capacity, dimensions of 1720 × 680 × 695 mm, and energy usage of 428 kWh per year. It also describes ActiveSmart Foodcare, adaptive defrost, a frost-free freezer, humidity control, and an inverter-controlled compressor. These are RF442BRPX6 specifications, not verified RF442BRGW6 specifications. Do not use them to fill gaps in the exact model’s documentation. Fisher & Paykel’s RF442BRPX6 page identifies that separate variant.
What to check before buying one used or as old stock
- Confirm the suffix: Photograph the rating plate and verify that it says RF442BRGW6, not a similar RF442-family model.
- Test operation: Check cooling in both compartments and listen for unusual sounds. If possible, monitor temperatures after the appliance has had time to stabilize.
