Sheeps is a roguelite in which you count and shear sheep that pour out of a mysterious rift. A report published October 6, 2026 says the game had no release date at that point, and readers could wishlist it on Steam. Despite the counting-sheep premise, it isn’t pitched as a sleep aid.
What is Sheeps?
Sheeps takes the old bedtime image of counting sheep and turns it into a game about pressure. According to the Maxbit Games report, the Steam page sets the scene this way: “A mysterious rift has opened. Sheep are pouring through it. We have no choice but to count and shear them.” We haven’t played it, and we haven’t checked the Steam page ourselves. Everything here is reported information.
How the sheep-counting roguelite works
Sheep run across the screen and you count them. The challenge starts simply. As a run goes on, more sheep appear and they move faster, so keeping an accurate count gets harder.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?

The report says upgrades either alter how counting works or buy you time. The examples it gives:
#1 Best Overall
- Every fifth sheep turns blue.
- The count is always even.
- Grain spawns and distracts the sheep, giving you more time.
- A magic bag sucks sheep up.
That is a list of examples, not a full feature list.
Animal helpers
Occasional animal characters show up, including a spider, a chameleon and business llamas. The llamas tell you the sheep count, but some of them get it wrong. You can tip them afterward.
Will it help you sleep?
No. The title’s jokes about the economy and insomnia are humor, and nothing in the report offers sleep research or suggests the game treats sleeplessness. The report’s author calls it casual and silly and says it looks relaxing, but doubts it would put them to sleep. The escalating speed and the risk of miscounting suggest a game that keeps you alert.
