The Shark Stratos AZ913ANZ is a corded upright vacuum with a detachable lift-away pod, a two-roller floorhead, and an odour-neutraliser feature. Shark’s Australian listing gives it an 8m cord, 7.3kg weight, 1.3L dust cup and two-year warranty. CHOICE and Consumer NZ both catalogue the model, but their detailed independent test scores are not visible on the pages available to non-members. That means buyers can verify what it includes and how it is specified, but cannot use those public listings alone to confirm how well it cleans compared with other vacuums.
What is the Shark Stratos AZ913ANZ?
AZ913ANZ is the regional model code for Shark’s Stratos XL Pet Pro Powered Lift-Away with Odour Neutraliser Technology. Shark’s Australian product page shortens the code to AZ913; keeping AZ913ANZ in mind helps distinguish it from similarly named Stratos vacuums sold in other markets.
CHOICE classifies it as an upright vacuum with a bin. Shark’s product description positions it for carpet, rugs and hard floors, with settings listed for thick carpet and area rugs, carpet and low pile, and hard floor. Those are manufacturer specifications and feature descriptions, not independent cleaning results. CHOICE’s AZ913ANZ listing and Shark Australia’s AZ913 page identify the model.

Dual-roller floorhead and brushroll
Shark calls its floorhead DuoClean PowerFins and says it uses two motorised brush rolls. The company says the rollers are designed to pick up large debris, small particles and stuck-on dust from hard floors and carpets. Shark also describes the Self-Cleaning Brushroll Plus as helping pick up hair and remove it from the brushroll while cleaning. These are manufacturer claims; they do not establish comparative performance. A footnote to Shark’s hair-pickup comparison specifies the AZ912 UK series, so it should not be read as a comparison with all vacuums.

Lift-away pod
Shark says Powered Lift-Away lets you detach the pod and continue cleaning under furniture with the motorised floorhead, or remove the floorhead for above-floor tasks such as stairs and curtains. This gives the upright a removable-pod configuration, but does not change its corded design.
Odour-neutraliser feature
The vacuum includes an odour-neutraliser dial and fragrance puck according to Shark Australia. Shark’s APAC support page identifies the puck as a consumable for the Odour Neutraliser Technology. Check that any replacement listing names AZ913ANZ compatibility; the available product information does not establish a replacement SKU. Shark’s APAC support page identifies the AZ913ANZ series manual, dated 21 March 2023.

What do the specifications say?
Shark’s official Australian listing gives stated specifications; CHOICE separately reports measurements. The differences are small but worth preserving rather than treating the figures as interchangeable.
| Specification | Shark Australia stated value | CHOICE reported value |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 800W | 840W measured power |
| Dust capacity | 1.3L dust cup | 1.2L measured dust collector volume |
| Reach or cord | 8m cord | 9.1m reach from power point |
| Weight | 7.3kg | 7.28kg |
| Warranty | Two years | Two years |
The figures are source-specific: Shark’s are stated product specifications, while CHOICE labels its power, volume, reach and weight as measured values. Reach from a power point is not necessarily the same measurement as cord length. CHOICE’s figures are listed on its model page, accessed in 2026.

What independent performance evidence is public?
CHOICE lists test categories including cleaning performance, carpet cleaning, pet-hair removal, ease of use, corners and edges, noise, reliability and satisfaction. Its detailed scores are member-only on the page available publicly. Consumer NZ also lists AZ913ANZ in its corded-vacuum test catalogue; its model entry is labelled January 2025, and the test guide was updated in August 2026. The returned page names categories such as carpet cleaning, pet-hair removal, ease of use, repairability, predicted reliability, brand satisfaction, and corners and edges, but its score fields are locked.
Consequently, there are no open, attributable, model-specific quantitative independent performance results in these listings. Wattage and bin capacity describe specifications; they do not prove cleaning effectiveness. Buyers who want to rank the Stratos against alternatives need access to the underlying CHOICE or Consumer NZ results and should compare like-for-like floor types, pet-hair results, handling, reliability and repairability.

CHOICE’s page also lists $800.00, but that is a page price observation, not a synchronized or guaranteed live price. Consumer ratings hosted by retailers are a different kind of evidence: Harvey Norman New Zealand’s page showed 4.7 out of 5 from 140 ratings, which is customer feedback, not a controlled cleaning test. Consumer NZ’s vacuum test guide and the CHOICE model listing provide the relevant catalogue information.
Price and warranty: check the market where you are buying
Regional prices are snapshots and can change with sales, stock and retailer. The retrieved Shark New Zealand listing showed NZ$699.99, while Shark Australia showed a sale price of A$649.99. CHOICE listed $800.00 without establishing it as a live offer. Verify the current local price and availability before deciding; do not compare the currencies as if they were equivalent.
Shark’s Australian listing states a two-year warranty, and the CHOICE listing also records two years. Check the warranty terms that apply to the exact unit and country of purchase, including coverage conditions, with the seller or Shark before buying.
Is there a credible replacement-parts path?
The manual confirms the fragrance puck is an Odour Neutraliser Technology consumable, making it the clearest identifiable replacement item. The official support listing names the AZ913ANZ-series manual, but the available sources do not establish a specific puck replacement SKU or confirm compatibility for third-party listings. For crevice tools, multi-surface tools and pet power brushes, buy only when the seller explicitly confirms AZ913ANZ fit. Check Shark’s regional parts and support pages or ask the seller to confirm the model code before ordering.
Who should consider the AZ913ANZ?
It is a candidate for shoppers who want a corded upright with a removable pod and a selection of floor and above-floor tools. Its published specifications offer a useful starting point for comparing weight, capacity, reach and warranty, but the public independent-test pages do not reveal enough detail to call it a strong or weak cleaner relative to competitors. If cleaning performance is the deciding factor, obtain the full independent scores rather than relying on feature claims or specifications.
