To change what appears when your Samsung Smart TV turns on, adjust Start with Smart Hub Home. Turn it on to launch Smart Hub Home; turn it off to start on the last-used input, such as HDMI. The menu path depends on the TV’s model year and region.
Change the startup screen on recent Samsung TVs
- Press the Home button on your remote.
- Open Settings, then All Settings.
- Choose the route that matches your TV: for 2025–2026 models, go to Advanced Features > Start Screen Option; for 2024 models, go to General & Privacy > Start Screen Option; for 2022–2023 models, go to General & Privacy > Start Screen Options.
- Set Start with Smart Hub Home on or off. On opens Smart Hub Home when the TV starts. Off opens the last-used source.
Samsung’s 2025–2026 menu route comes from its Colombia support guidance, while Gulf-region instructions confirm the 2025 route. Regional labels may differ, so consult the instructions for your TV’s market if the names do not match: Samsung Colombia’s Smart Hub guide and Samsung Gulf’s 2025 Start Screen Option guide.
Find the setting on an older Samsung TV
Earlier models use different menu names. These are Samsung-documented routes; menu wording can vary with region and software version.

Choose what the TV opens when it powers on
- Smart Hub Home: With Start with Smart Hub Home enabled, the TV opens Smart Hub Home at startup.
- Last-used input: With the setting disabled, the TV opens the source it last used, such as an HDMI-connected device, antenna, or console. The documented setting follows the last-used source; it is not a picker for choosing any input regardless of what was used most recently.
- Last-used app: Some models have a separate Autorun Last App control. It is distinct from the Smart Hub Home/input choice, and Samsung notes that app support varies. Instructions for this option appear in Samsung Gulf’s model-year overview.
Keep Multi View autorun separate
Some Samsung TVs provide separate autorun options for Multi View, including phone mirroring or casting. These do not control the ordinary choice between Smart Hub Home and the last-used input. Samsung says Auto-launch Multi View on rotation requires a separately sold Auto Rotating Accessory; that accessory is relevant only to rotation-linked Multi View, not to changing normal startup behavior. If the TV still opens the wrong screen
- Check the model year and region. Samsung’s menu route differs by generation, and regional support pages may use different labels. Find the model code on the TV or in its settings, then use support guidance for the TV’s market.
- Confirm the startup option’s state. If Smart Hub still opens, verify that Start with Smart Hub Home is off and that the change was applied. Samsung does not specify a restart as a universal requirement.
- Check app compatibility separately. If you meant for the last-used app to launch, look for Autorun Last App and note that the feature may not support every app.
- Look for a different label if the option is missing. The menu can vary by model and software. Use the support page for your region and model, or check Samsung’s model-year overview.
Startup behavior is not Home-screen artwork
The setting described here controls what launches when the TV powers on. Samsung’s instructions do not establish that it changes Smart Hub’s visual layout or lets you replace its artwork.
