Serious Sam: Shatterverse has no cheat codes or console commands documented in the official sources reviewed. Its practical “cheats” are run choices: build around the Multiverse Intel you find, weigh risky anomalies against your current run, and explore shifting arenas for secrets. This guide separates confirmed mechanics from strategy suggestions so you can plan without relying on unverified code lists.
Are there cheats or console commands in Serious Sam: Shatterverse?
The official Steam listing and developer announcements do not document cheat codes or console commands. That does not prove none exist; it means there is no verified official code list to rely on. Treat claims about unlock codes, exploits, or hidden command menus as unconfirmed unless they are demonstrated for your game version by a reliable, version-specific source.
The more dependable way to improve a run is to use the game’s documented systems: collect Multiverse Intel, choose upgrades that complement one another, and decide whether optional risks are worth taking.

How weapons and upgrades work
Build for the current run
The developer describes a mix of familiar Serious Sam weapons and new weapons, but official materials do not provide a complete weapon catalog, numerical stats, unlock costs, or a balance-based tier list. The developer’s weapon announcement says Multiverse Intel collected during a run can boost stats, unlock active abilities, and add tactical perks. It also states that death ends the run and costs you that run’s loadout. Developer announcement
#1 Best Overall
- Serious first person shooting action
- Updated visuals, lush landscapes, improved textures and character models in high definition
- Wild weaponry including chainsaws, flame throwers, rocket launchers, sniper rifles and more
- Insane extraterrestrial enemies, exotic locations, puzzles and powerups
A useful strategy inference—not an official optimal build—is to choose Intel that supports a coherent approach instead of scattering upgrades across unrelated effects. In co-op, coordinate choices where possible so teammates complement rather than duplicate each other.
Keep temporary equipment separate from lasting progression
Shatterverse combines run-specific gear and Intel with permanent upgrades that expand the possibilities of later runs. Think of the loadout in your hands as temporary and permanent progression as a way to broaden future options; do not assume an item or run upgrade survives a death unless the game explicitly identifies it as permanent. The Steam store description presents shifting runs, weapons, boons, modifiers, and permanent upgrades as parts of this progression loop. Steam store description
How to approach anomalies and hidden portals
The Steam description calls out unstable anomalies, hidden portals, and high-risk opportunities that can improve a run or end it. It does not say that any particular anomaly always pays off, so treat an optional detour as a gamble rather than a guaranteed upgrade.
- Consider your run state: A risky opportunity may be more attractive when your current build is stable than when you are already struggling.
- Check the trade-off: If an opportunity could end the run, weigh that cost against the potential benefit instead of entering automatically.
- Use the result to learn: Because runs shift, pay attention to what an anomaly does in your own version rather than assuming every encounter behaves identically.
Finding secrets without relying on unverified routes
The developer has described replaying missions to hunt for secrets and pursue higher scores as part of the intended experience. Game Director Nic Duchesne wrote: “The first was that urge to replay the same mission over and over, hunting for every secret and chasing a higher score.” The store listing mentions hidden portals, but official sources do not provide a verified room-by-room route or hidden-switch checklist.

- Platform elements in the thrilling action shooter -- ammo and enemies are everywhere, so hold down that fire button and keep moving
- Incredible new weapons with new powers and unlimited ammo
- Jump into a Hummer and run over the alien zombies, or blow them away with missiles
- Power up with killing combos - Get 20 kills in a row and you'll go into Super Combo Mode, becoming more Serious than ever!
Explore arenas deliberately and revisit areas when a run gives you a reason to do so. Since arenas and runs shift, a fan-made route may not apply to every version or run. Verify any specific secret walkthrough against the game version it covers before following it.
Solo or co-op: which is the better fit?
Steam lists single-player, online co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer; the Xbox store describes online co-op for 2–5 players. The developer says the game includes an offline solo mode. Choose solo if you want to make every build and risk decision yourself; co-op gives you teammates to coordinate around when choosing Intel and handling encounters. These are mode trade-offs, not evidence that one approach is universally easier.

- You are Sam "Serious" Stone a legend in his time, due to his extreme bravery in battle. As attempts to defend the solar system fail the planet Earth is coming under direct attack, and humankind stares into the face of its own annihilation.World leaders turn to their only hope, an ancient artifact called the "Time-Lock" that can teleport a single person back in time. The choice of whom to send is obvious... You are the only hope for humankind. Return the past and change it by exterminating the evil forces determined to end humanity.
The developer says peer-to-peer multiplayer and offline solo play were chosen so the game would not depend on dedicated servers for those modes. Game Director Nic Duchesne said the intent was that the game “could still be played 5, 10, or even 15 years from now.” That is a design intention, not a guarantee about every online feature, future platform support, or ongoing service.
What is confirmed about the game and its progression?
Serious Sam: Shatterverse is a first-person shooter with roguelite runs and optional co-op. Its store description emphasizes procedurally shifting runs through hand-crafted arenas rather than a conventional fixed campaign. The story sends multiple versions of Sam through shifting universes against Mental and his lieutenants; the Steam listing says players must bring down five lieutenants. Steam identifies Behaviour Interactive as developer and Devolver Digital as publisher, and lists August 31, 2026 as the release date. Steam listing
