There is no evidence-backed universal winner among Seedance 2.5, Kling, and Veo 3.1. Choose according to the workflow you need: Seedance 2.5’s published feature set emphasizes longer connected clips, reference inputs, and targeted edits; Google documents Veo 3.1 across text, image, and audio-video generation and several Google products; and the available Kling evidence describes the older Kling 2.5 Turbo release, not a verified October 2026 lineup. Because the published claims are not a current, matched test, compare candidates with the same brief before settling on a paid workflow.
At a glance: what each generator is documented to do

| Seedance 2.5 ByteDance announcement, July 31, 2026 |
Up to 30 seconds of audio-video in one pass; multiple rounds of extension; reference inputs of up to 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio clips in one pass; timestamp-level audio/video editing. | Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro were named for rollout. API access through BytePlus ModelArk was described as “coming soon” at announcement time. | Current regional availability, current API status, and comparable current pricing. |
| Veo 3.1 Google DeepMind product materials; benchmark material last updated October 2025 |
Text-to-video, image-to-video, text-to-audio-and-video, and realistic-physics capabilities, as described by Google. | Flow, Gemini, Google Vids, AI Studio, and Gemini API. | A fresh 2026 head-to-head ranking against Seedance 2.5 and current Kling; consistent natural spoken audio is still described by Google as an active development area. |
| Kling Available corporate release concerns Kling 2.5 Turbo, September 2025 |
Kuaishou described improvements to text-to-video and image-to-video, prompt adherence, motion, style consistency, and aesthetics. | Current access routes are not established by the cited release. | October 2026 model lineup, availability, regions, and current price. The release’s 25-credit figure is historical launch pricing, not a current rate. |
These are vendor-described capabilities, not independent findings. The evidence covers different product versions and evaluation setups, so it cannot support a single fair score or a claim that one tool is best overall.
When Seedance 2.5 is the better fit
Seedance 2.5 is the most relevant candidate if your project depends on a longer single generation, repeated extensions, or a mix of reference materials. ByteDance’s July 31, 2026 announcement says it can create audio-video clips up to 30 seconds in one pass and supports multiple rounds of extension. It also lists up to 30 image references, 10 video clips, and 10 audio clips in a single pass. Those figures are ByteDance’s product claims, not independently verified limits.

Its model page also describes extending a 30-second generation twice and more precise interpretation of reference video. These descriptions point to a workflow centered on continuity, reference-driven generation, and focused changes rather than generating an isolated clip and starting over each time.

ByteDance named Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro as rollout surfaces in the launch announcement. It said API access through BytePlus ModelArk was coming soon at that time; that wording does not establish the API’s status or regional availability today. Check the actual product surface you intend to use before planning around a particular feature or integration.
When Veo 3.1 is the better fit
Veo 3.1 is worth considering when you want a Google-documented route for text-to-video, image-to-video, or text-to-audio-and-video, or when access through an existing Google workflow matters. Google lists Flow, Gemini, Google Vids, AI Studio, and Gemini API as ways to use Veo. Google also describes realistic physics as a model capability; treat that as the vendor’s characterization rather than a guarantee for every prompt.

Audio needs deserve a specific check. Google says that “creating videos with natural and consistent spoken audio, particularly for shorter speech segments, remains an area of active development.” If intelligible, consistent dialogue is central to your project, evaluate actual outputs for your speech length, voice, and scene rather than assuming the general audio-video capability will meet that requirement.

Google’s page includes benchmark results, but its displayed evaluation material was last updated in October 2025. It reports results from different evaluations, including 1,003 prompts in MovieGenBench text-to-video comparisons and 355 image-and-text pairs in VBench image-to-video comparisons. These are sizes of particular evaluations, not market statistics or proof that Veo is currently ahead on all tasks. They do not amount to a fresh, matched comparison with Seedance 2.5 and current Kling.

What the available Kling evidence can—and cannot—tell you
The corporate source available for Kling is Kuaishou Technology’s release dated September 26, 2025, about Kling AI 2.5 Turbo, which it said launched on September 23. Kuaishou described improvements to text-to-video and image-to-video, including prompt adherence, motion, style consistency, and aesthetics. This is useful historical context, but it does not establish Kling’s current October 2026 model, features, access routes, or regional availability.
Kuaishou listed launch pricing of 25 credits for a five-second 1080p video. That is a launch-era figure from 2025, not verified current pricing and not a reliable basis for estimating today’s project budget. The company also reported a blind professional evaluation against older competitor models. Because that is company-reported testing of older versions, it should not be read as an independent ranking of Seedance 2.5, current Kling, and Veo 3.1.

Choose by the requirements of your project
- Longer connected scenes and extension: Start by evaluating Seedance 2.5, whose announcement specifically describes a 30-second single pass and multiple extension rounds. Check that the feature is available on your intended platform.
- Many reference assets or targeted adjustments: Seedance 2.5’s announced reference-input counts and timestamp-level editing are relevant if your workflow depends on combining images, video, and audio references or changing a specific moment.
- Google workflow or API access: Veo 3.1 may fit if one of Google’s named surfaces—Flow, Gemini, Google Vids, AI Studio, or Gemini API—matches how your team works.
- Spoken dialogue: Test the exact speech requirements with each accessible candidate. Google explicitly identifies consistent natural spoken audio as an active development area for Veo 3.1; the available evidence does not establish a comparable dialogue result across all three.
- Current Kling features or predictable cost: Verify the current model, availability, and rate directly before choosing. The cited Kling release is from 2025 and does not establish October 2026 commercial details.
Run a fair, useful comparison before committing
Since the documented tests are not a matched tournament, a small test using your own brief is more informative than treating vendor benchmarks as a universal ranking. Keep the inputs and evaluation criteria consistent across tools, and note which model version and access surface you actually used.
Quick Recap
- Write one representative brief. Include the scene, subject action, visual style, camera direction, desired duration, audio requirements, and any reference assets. Use the same brief and assets wherever each service permits.
- Test the feature your project depends on. If continuity matters, assess whether extension preserves the scene. If reference fidelity matters, compare how closely outputs follow the same supplied materials. If editing controls matter, request the same targeted change.
- Score outcomes against your deliverable. Check prompt adherence, motion, visual consistency, reference fidelity, audio quality, and whether the result needs repair or regeneration. Weight only the criteria that matter to your production.
- Check access and total cost in the actual workflow. Confirm the model version and region available to you, then check current limits and charges for the number of generations and revisions you expect. The evidence here does not establish comparable current prices for the three services.
