SecureVue NGS was eIQnetworks’ SIEM product for small and midsize organizations, combining centralized log and event management with cross-source correlation, security search, and network-behavior visibility. Those descriptions and the reported price and deployment time come from 2012–2013 coverage; current availability, support, ownership, and any successor have not been established. It should not be treated as a currently purchasable or supported product on this evidence alone.

What SecureVue NGS was designed to do

A 2012 Network World article described SecureVue NGS as agentless software that consolidated and analyzed information from sources including firewalls, intrusion-prevention systems, servers, antivirus products, vulnerability scanners, routers, and NetFlow, alongside performance data. Its stated aim was to give administrators a consolidated view of network activity, server availability, and user and resource usage.

The reported feature set included centralized security-log management, normalization and categorization of events, encryption of security logs, proactive monitoring, event correlation, alerting, and security search. A SecurityWeek launch report from September 2012 also described log management, event management, network behavioral analysis, and security search.

Why it was positioned for small and midsize businesses

The product’s historical pitch was to bring several security-visibility functions into one console for organizations with less budget or specialized staff than large enterprises. The sources describe an SMB and midmarket target, but do not establish how well the product performed in any particular company or how much expertise an implementation required.

Compliance-oriented reporting was also part of the described offering. The 2012 coverage named PCI, HIPAA, FISMA, SOX, and GLBA as contexts for reporting. Such reporting could help organize security information, but using SecureVue NGS would not by itself make an organization compliant.

SC Media recorded eIQnetworks’ own positioning as a platform intended to deliver a unified view of an organization’s threat, compliance, and risk posture. That is the company’s characterization, not an independent assessment of effectiveness (SC Media’s historical review).

What the one-hour deployment claim meant

SecurityWeek reported eIQnetworks’ 2012 claim that an initial deployment could take under one hour. The company’s vice president, John Linkous, said that estimate covered a customized sequence of downloading, registering, installing, and connecting to assets such as Windows and Linux hosts, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and vulnerability scanners.

This was a vendor-reported estimate, not an independently measured benchmark or a promise that every organization could finish setup in an hour. The report noted that users might need to onboard additional sources and tune policies to suit their environments. Linkous also said the product included more than 50 common alert and monitoring policies and that customization did not require professional services; those, too, were vendor statements from 2012.

Historical price and distribution

SecurityWeek reported a 2012 starting price of $12,595 for a 25-node license, including one year of maintenance and support. SC Media’s historical review also listed a $12,595 starting price. Neither figure is a current quote, and the available accounts do not establish present licensing terms or total cost.

In 2013, EiQ Networks announced a distribution partnership with Bulwark for markets in the Middle East. That announcement establishes a historical channel relationship only; it does not confirm present regional availability or support (EiQ Networks’ 2013 announcement).

Is SecureVue NGS still available?

The sources establish historical product descriptions and a past distribution relationship, not current product status. They do not confirm whether SecureVue NGS can still be purchased, whether existing installations are supported, who owns the product today, or whether it has a successor. Verify those points directly with a current, authoritative vendor or support contact before making a procurement or deployment decision.

How to assess its historical claims

SecureVue NGS’s historical value proposition brought together centralized logs, event correlation, search, network-behavior analysis, and compliance-related reporting for SMB and midmarket environments. The available coverage is useful for understanding what eIQnetworks said it offered, but it does not provide a present-day product evaluation, independent capacity benchmark, or basis for ranking SecureVue against current SIEMs.

In a historical comparison, relevant questions would include the log sources and integrations supported, the expertise and tuning required, deployment form, detection content, compliance functions, licensing basis, and maintenance arrangements. Current comparisons or recommendations require up-to-date evidence that is not established here.
