On May 17, 2023, SECOM CO., LTD announced a $192 million primary equity investment split between Eagle Eye Networks and Brivo: $100 million for Eagle Eye Networks and $92 million for Brivo. The companies described it as one of the largest investments to date in cloud physical security; that characterization came from their announcement, not an independently established ranking.
The announcement set out intended uses for the funding, not verified results. The corporate picture has also changed: on December 29, 2025, Brivo and Eagle Eye Networks announced they would merge under the Brivo name.
What did SECOM announce?
SECOM CO., LTD announced a primary equity investment of $192 million across the two companies. The announced allocation was:

What did each company plan to do with the investment?
Eagle Eye Networks: video analytics and global operations
Eagle Eye Networks said it would continue developing AI analytics, including Smart Video Search, Smart Alarms, and Vehicle Intelligence, and expand its worldwide operations. The announcement described Eagle Eye as a cloud video-surveillance provider offering the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS and AI analytics.
Brivo: product development and expansion
Brivo said it would use the investment to accelerate product development, sales and marketing, operations, and geographic expansion. Its stated priorities also included smart-space and AI functionality, and evaluating strategic acquisitions.

These were plans stated in 2023. The announcement does not establish which initiatives were completed or what results they produced.
How did their announced areas of focus differ?
At the time of the investment announcement, Eagle Eye’s emphasis was cloud video surveillance and analytics, while Brivo’s was cloud access control and smart-space technology. Both described a cloud-based approach and integrations with third-party providers, including property-management and PropTech platforms.

This is a description of the companies’ 2023 announcement, not a current product comparison or confirmation that a particular camera or access-control device works with either platform. The announcement does not identify a camera model or document specific hardware compatibility.
What changed after the investment announcement?
On December 29, 2025, Brivo and Eagle Eye Networks announced a merger under the Brivo name. Their announcement described a unified cloud-native physical-security platform spanning AI, access control, video intelligence, visitor management, and intrusion. What the announcement does—and does not—tell us
The published figures establish the announced investment amounts and allocations. The announcement does not state a company valuation, equity percentage, market-size figure, or investment return, so none can be calculated from the $192 million figure alone. It also does not demonstrate later business outcomes, market share, or the effectiveness of any security product.
