Seasonic’s PRIME PX-2200 is a 2,200 W power supply introduced at Computex 2024, with sales launch announced on September 23, 2024. It is aimed at high-performance PCs and workstations, including AI and rendering workloads, but its 200–240 V AC input requirement is a critical compatibility check: it is specified for that range only.
What is the Seasonic PRIME PX-2200?
The PRIME PX-2200 is a high-end, fully modular PC power supply rated to deliver 2,200 W. Seasonic first introduced it at Computex 2024 and announced its sales launch on September 23, 2024. The announcement describes it as an ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 unit. See Seasonic’s PRIME PX-2200 product announcement, keeping in mind that its stated AC input range is 200–240 V only.

Check the voltage before considering it
The most important compatibility constraint is the stated 200–240 V AC input range. A 2,200 W output rating does not make the PSU suitable for every household electrical supply. Confirm that the supply at the intended installation location falls within the specified range and check the regional product listing before buying. Seasonic’s cited 80 PLUS Platinum rating is specifically stated at EU 230 V; do not assume it applies at other input voltages.

Seasonic positions the unit for AI computing, AI drawing and rendering, and edge-computing tasks in high-performance PCs and workstations. These are the manufacturer’s intended workloads, not independent proof that a particular PC needs 2,200 W. The wattage a system requires depends on its actual components and configuration; this announcement does not establish a recommended capacity for any specific build.

Launch availability and pricing
Seasonic’s September 2024 launch table listed China as available, Europe for October 2024, North America as N/A, and the rest of the world for late Q3/Q4 2024. Those entries describe the original launch plan, not current stock. The same announcement listed a European MSRP of €579.90, marked U.S. MSRP N/A, and listed $499.99 for the rest of the world. Seasonic said the MSRP was for reference and could change without notice, so these are historical launch figures rather than current prices.

The product and investor material supports the stated specifications and intended workloads, but it does not provide independent testing of performance, noise, or efficiency in a particular build. It also does not state the PSU’s physical dimensions or confirm current inventory. Seasonic later discussed separate AI-infrastructure products, including a 5,200 W server PSU, in a Computex 2026 article; that announcement is distinct from the PRIME PX-2200 and does not change its specifications.
