In Sea of Conquest, recruiting a hero, ranking one up and using Aqua Awakening are separate systems. A fan-maintained guide reports that recruitment opens at Main Plot Chapter VI through the Sea Soul Mirror, with standard and limited banners using different Conches. Its pull guarantees and shard rules may change, so check the live banner details and the hero’s own screen before spending. Current Aqua Awakening requirements are not established by the available sources.
How do you recruit heroes?
A fan-maintained Sea of Conquest heroes guide, which attributes its mechanics information to AppGamer, says the Sea Soul Mirror unlocks after Main Plot Chapter VI. The Mirror opens the Conch summoning interface. The guide also reports one free daily summon on the standard banner; confirm whether that applies to your account in the current interface.
Standard and limited banners use different Conches
The guide describes Echo Conches for regular banners and Hymn Conches for limited-time recruitment. It lists Trials, chapter milestones and events as possible Echo Conch sources, and guild activity, gang events, Treasure of Tides and seasonal events as possible Hymn Conch sources. It also mentions Gleaming Conches for SP hero banners. These are guide-reported routes, not a guarantee that every option is currently available in every season, region or account.

The same guide reports the following banner guarantees. Treat them as a starting point for understanding the system, not as current official rules: open the banner’s “i” or details panel and check its counter before spending. The game’s live panel is the relevant source for the banner you can actually use.

The guide does not provide a current publisher-issued confirmation for these figures. Check the live guarantee wording and counter, including whether a counter carries over, rather than assuming a prior banner’s progress applies.
Other recruitment routes
The guide also lists events, gang activities, Guild Emporium, story missions, Hero Token exchange and Treasure of Tides. It names Sharky, Lester and Luna as Guild Emporium heroes at particular guild-relation levels, but availability can change. Use the current event and shop screens to see which heroes and exchanges are offered to you.
What is the difference between shards, duplicates and rank?
Recruitment and progression are not the same step. The community guide reports that 50 hero shards unlock a hero. Once a hero is recruited, duplicate summons reportedly provide 50 Hero Badges, which are used to raise that hero’s rank; skills unlock at rank thresholds. In practical terms, shards are described as an unlock route, while badges advance an already-recruited hero.

How does Aqua Awakening work?
Aqua Awakening is distinct from shard unlocks and badge-based rank progression. Historical version 1.1.3 patch-note text, reproduced in a Reddit-hosted copy of the patch notes, says that in Season X1 some heroes had awakened the power of Aqua and that developing them could further enhance their strength. This establishes the feature’s historical description, not how it works for the current season.

The available sources do not establish today’s eligible heroes, materials, prerequisites, thresholds or effects. Open the target hero’s Awakening or Aqua interface in-game and follow the requirements displayed there; do not assume that Season X1 rules or its eligible roster still apply.
How should you choose a banner or decide where to invest?
Before spending Conches
- Check which hero the banner targets and whether it is time-limited.
- Confirm the currency required: the guide distinguishes Echo Conches for regular banners from Hymn Conches for limited recruitment, and also mentions Gleaming Conches for SP banners.
- Read the live guarantee and pity counter, including any carryover terms.
- Check whether a free daily pull or a starter-banner guarantee is shown for your account.
These checks matter because the guide’s guarantees and currency sources are not confirmed as current official rules, and banner availability can vary.
Before investing in a hero
Consider the hero’s role in your ships or formation alongside their current rank and unlocked skills. For Aqua Awakening, use the actual hero interface to confirm eligibility and materials. An independent Sea of Conquest Handbook heroes guide describes a roster and roles, but it is an unaffiliated fan resource rather than confirmation of live account-specific options.

Why should you verify the details in-game?
Sea of Conquest continues to receive updates. The US Apple App Store listing records version 1.1.800 dated September 24, 2026, and mentions recent crossover-hero updates. The independent Handbook says its guide was updated September 28, 2026, verified September 9 and checked against version 1.1.790—a slight version gap from the store listing. These are signs that roster and feature details can move; they do not confirm specific recruitment rules.
