A screenshot API can fit within free cloud allowances, but “₹0/month” is conditional: each service has separate limits, and the platform quotas alone do not prove that a particular deployment stayed free or performed reliably. Cloudflare offers a simple, stateless screenshot path through Browser Run Quick Actions and a more directly controllable option through Browser Sessions. Oracle’s Always Free compute is a separate resource that may or may not belong in the design.
What the architecture needs to establish
The title does not, by itself, reveal which service runs the browser, stores the image, or returns its bytes. A responsible build description should show those components rather than imply that a Worker and an Oracle VM automatically form a working screenshot service.
One possible design is a Worker that validates a request and delegates browser work to a browser runtime, then returns the image or stores it for later retrieval. That is an architectural option, not a claim about a specific deployed implementation. Cloudflare describes Browser Run as a way to programmatically control a headless browser for tasks including screenshots and PDFs; its documentation distinguishes simple Quick Actions from scripted Browser Sessions (Cloudflare Browser Run getting-started documentation, updated May 29, 2026).
- Browser execution: identify where the browser process runs and how the API invokes it.
- Oracle’s role: if an Oracle VM is used, specify its task, eligible shape, and region. Do not assume it generates screenshots merely because it is part of the title.
- Image delivery: state whether images are returned in the response or stored, along with the storage service, retention period, and cache behavior.
- Request safety: explain URL validation, blocking of localhost and private-network destinations, timeouts, concurrency limits, and abuse controls.
- Observed behavior: report startup delays, screenshot duration, errors, request volume, and the period covered by account-usage and billing records.
Choose the browser interface that matches the task
Quick Actions for a simple request
Cloudflare recommends Quick Actions for straightforward screenshot requests: the operation is a single HTTP request and does not require deploying code. This is the lower-complexity route when the task is stateless and the available action meets the required behavior.
#1 Best Overall
Browser Sessions for direct control
Browser Sessions provide direct scripted control through Puppeteer, Playwright, CDP, or Stagehand. That control is useful when navigation, page waits, or other browser interactions need to be handled explicitly. It also introduces more integration work than a single-request action. The documentation does not establish that one approach is universally better; the right choice depends on the behavior the API must implement.
Both methods draw on Browser Run’s browser-time allowance. A Worker request quota does not grant additional browser time, so measure actual browser duration—including retries—before estimating how many screenshots fit.

Keep the free-tier limits separate
The relevant ceilings belong to different services and should not be combined into one “free requests” figure. The following are provider-published limits and pricing, not measurements of a particular screenshot API.
Recommended Free Tools
| Service or plan | Documented allowance or cost | What it applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Workers Free | 100,000 requests per day; 10 ms CPU time, 128 MB memory, and 50 subrequests per request | Worker execution limits. Cloudflare’s limits page was last updated September 5, 2026 (Workers limits). |
| Cloudflare Browser Run on Workers Free | 10 minutes of browser usage per day; three concurrent browsers for Browser Sessions | Browser usage is separate from Worker requests. Cloudflare’s Browser Run pricing page was last updated April 21, 2026 (Browser Run pricing). |
| Cloudflare Workers Paid | $5 monthly account minimum | Paid Workers plan minimum; the pricing page was last updated October 2, 2026 (Workers pricing). |
| Browser Run with Workers Paid | 10 browser hours per month and 10 average concurrent browsers included; then $0.09 per additional browser hour and $2 per additional average concurrent browser | Browser Run pricing published April 21, 2026. Browser hours are shared across methods (Browser Run pricing). |
| Oracle Always Free Ampere A1 | Equivalent to 2 OCPUs and 12 GB of memory, subject to tenancy limits and eligible configuration | Must be provisioned in the tenancy’s home region; boot volumes count toward the storage allowance. Oracle’s documentation was accessed October 7, 2026 (Always Free Resources). |
A design can stay below the Workers Free daily request ceiling and still exceed Browser Run’s daily browser allowance. The browser limit is only 10 minutes per day on Workers Free, so screenshot capacity depends on real browser duration and retries; the quota cannot be converted responsibly into a fixed screenshot count without those measurements.
What Oracle Always Free does—and does not—guarantee
Oracle’s Always Free Ampere A1 allocation is an eligible compute allowance, not a general promise of uninterrupted hosting. The documented allowance is the first 1,500 OCPU-hours and 9,000 GB-hours per month, equivalent to 2 OCPUs and 12 GB of memory for an Always Free tenancy. Actual combinations depend on tenancy limits and boot-volume size, and the compute must be created in the home region.
Oracle says it may reclaim Always Free compute instances that meet all of these low-utilization conditions over a seven-day period: 95th-percentile CPU utilization below 20%, network utilization below 20%, and, for A1 shapes, memory utilization below 20%. Oracle also notes that lack of host capacity can prevent provisioning in the home region. These are operational availability conditions, not an uptime guarantee (Oracle Always Free Resources).

Do not confuse trial credits with persistent free resources
Oracle distinguishes Always Free resources from its temporary Free Tier credits. The $300 promotional credits last up to 30 days; they are not a recurring monthly allowance. Paid resources provisioned using those credits may be reclaimed when the trial ends unless the account is upgraded. Oracle says Always Free resources do not expire, but a persistent zero-cost claim still depends on using an eligible resource and configuration. Check the resource’s eligibility and region in the console (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Free Tier; Oracle Free Tier FAQ, accessed October 7, 2026).

How to substantiate a ₹0/month claim
Provider pricing and quotas describe what may be available; they do not establish the actual bill or service quality of an individual deployment. A credible report should name the billing period and show the configuration, measured usage, and relevant account billing records. It should also distinguish a temporary trial from Always Free resources and identify any usage beyond included allowances.
Without the implementation details and account records, it is not possible to verify that a particular API costs ₹0 per month, how many screenshots it can serve, or whether it meets a latency or uptime target. The documented limits provide a basis for planning, not evidence of an app’s measured result.
