A July 7, 2025, ExtremeTech article reported that a Sceptre curved 240Hz gaming monitor was $129.97, describing it as 28% off. That is a historical deal report, not a verified current offer; the model number and the price used to calculate the discount were not provided.
Is the Sceptre 240Hz monitor still $129.97?
There is no verified current price in the available information. Juhi Wadia’s July 7, 2025, ExtremeTech article reported $129.97 as the deal price at publication. It called the reduction 28%, but the reference price and sale history behind that percentage are not independently established. Treat both figures as historical claims, not a live offer or confirmed present-day saving.
Which monitor did the deal article describe?
The article called it the “Sceptre Curved 24.5-Inch 240Hz Gaming Monitor,” but did not identify a model code. Sceptre’s Curved Series listing includes the C255B-FWT240 (2024), a plausible match based on its size class, curve and refresh rate. The manufacturer describes it as a 25-inch monitor, so the size wording is broadly consistent, but the deal article does not confirm that this was the product on sale.
Sceptre’s page displays $300.00 for the C255B-FWT240. That is a manufacturer-page listing price, not proof of a current street price or the benchmark used for the 2025 deal’s claimed discount.

What features did the deal report mention?
The ExtremeTech article described a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, AMD FreeSync, an R1500 curve, two DisplayPort and two HDMI inputs, built-in speakers and blue light shift. These are the article’s claims about an unidentified model; the article alone does not let readers verify that every feature belongs to the C255B-FWT240.
Sceptre’s official listing for the C255B-FWT240 (2024) specifies a 25-inch, 1500R curved display with Full HD 1920×1080 resolution and refresh rates up to 240Hz. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results.

What to check before buying
- Confirm the model code. Look for C255B-FWT240 on the seller’s product page or the monitor’s listing details rather than relying only on a similar product name or screen size.
- Check the current price and return terms. Compare the live seller price with the terms for returns and warranty coverage. Neither current stock nor a current Amazon price is established here.
- Match connections and sync support to your setup. Verify the ports on the exact listing and confirm compatibility with your PC or console before ordering. The deal article’s port and FreeSync claims are not tied to a confirmed model code.
- Judge the display specifications against your needs. The identified C255B-FWT240 listing specifies 1920×1080 resolution and up to 240Hz; consider both when deciding whether this particular screen suits your games and hardware.
