To save a missed call number on a Samsung Galaxy phone, open Phone > Recents, select the call, tap Add to contacts, then choose whether to create a contact or update an existing one. Review the details and tap Save.
Save a missed call number from Recents
- Open the Phone app and tap Recents.
- Tap the call entry with the number you want to save.
- Tap Add to contacts.
- Choose Create new contact or Update existing contact.
- Enter or review the contact details, then tap Save.
Samsung’s call log guide says Recents includes dialed, received, and missed calls. If a caller is already in Contacts, their name appears in the call log. Check the entry before creating a new one so you do not make a duplicate.
Choose whether to create or update a contact
- Create new contact: Choose this if the number is not already saved. Add the name and any other details you have.
- Update existing contact: Choose this if the person is already in Contacts and you want to add the missed-call number to that entry.
If “Add to contacts” is missing
Phone app screens and available options can vary by Galaxy model, software version, and carrier. Samsung also notes that carrier differences can affect how the Phone app appears, so the exact labels may not match these steps. Check the selected call’s details for a contact-saving option. Samsung’s Phone app guide describes these variations.

Create the contact manually
If the call details do not offer a way to save the number, add it from the Phone app instead:

- Open Phone and tap Contacts.
- Tap the Create contact plus icon.
- Enter the phone number and any name or details you know.
- Tap Save.
