Kotaku reported a Saturndock Nintendo Switch 2 charger for $15, down from $17, on October 6, 2026—but the deal price and exact Amazon listing have not been independently verified. More importantly, the available product information conflicts on whether the charger can power Switch 2 in TV dock mode. Confirm the exact model and its dock-mode support before buying it for that purpose.
What the reported deal includes—and what is unconfirmed
In an October 6, 2026 article, Kotaku described the deal item as a Saturndock charger with a detachable five-foot cable, 60W output, and Switch 2 dock-mode support. Kotaku reported a price of $15, reduced from $17. Those are claims in the dated article, not independently verified current listing details; the Amazon listing behind its link could not be retrieved. A separate Saturndock product page describes a 45W charger with a five-foot detachable USB-C cable. It lists compatibility with Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, Steam Deck, and Switch 2, but explicitly says it does not support Switch 2 TV dock mode. The available information does not establish whether that page describes the same model Kotaku featured, so the 45W specification and dock-mode exclusion should not be substituted for Kotaku’s 60W claim—or treated as a resolution of the discrepancy. Will it power a Switch 2 dock?
That is the key question to settle before purchase. Kotaku says its deal item supports Switch 2 dock mode, while the accessible Saturndock page for a 45W model says TV dock mode is unsupported. Without a confirmed model or SKU linking those descriptions, the evidence does not establish that the charger in the reported deal will power the dock.

Nintendo’s guidance illustrates why “charges Switch 2” is not enough: the original Switch AC adapter can charge a Switch 2 when connected directly, but it cannot power Switch 2 in TV mode because the power output differs. How to check compatibility before buying
- Match the exact model. Check the retailer listing for a model name or SKU, then confirm that it matches the product page or deal description. A brand name alone does not establish that two chargers have the same specifications.
- Look for explicit TV dock-mode support. If you need TV play, the listing should clearly say it powers the Switch 2 dock or supports Switch 2 TV mode. A claim that it charges Switch 2 directly does not answer that question.
- Compare the stated output. The two available descriptions differ: Kotaku reports 60W for its deal item; Saturndock’s accessible page states 45W for its model. Do not assume either figure applies to the other model.
- Check the cable and other devices you plan to use. Kotaku reports a detachable five-foot cable for the deal item; Saturndock’s 45W page also describes a five-foot detachable cable. The latter page lists Switch, OLED, Lite, Steam Deck, and Switch 2 compatibility, but its dock-mode limitation still applies to that described model.
- Verify price and stock at checkout. The $15 price was reported on October 6, 2026, and has not been confirmed as a live offer.
Will it charge Switch, OLED, Lite, or Steam Deck?
The accessible Saturndock 45W product page lists the original Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, Steam Deck, and Switch 2 as compatible devices. That is the page’s stated compatibility for its 45W charger, not independent test evidence and not proof that the separate deal item has identical specifications. For Switch 2, confirm whether you need direct charging or TV dock power; those are not interchangeable use cases.

It is not established. Kotaku reported $15, down from $17, on October 6, 2026, but the underlying retailer listing could not be verified. Treat both the price and availability as historical reporting unless the current listing shows the offer and identifies the same model.
