The SanDisk Optimus GX C50 2TB Storage Expansion Card is designed for Xbox Series X|S, but the available evidence does not confirm that its Prime Day price is a record low. SanDisk lists the exact model as SDCEOGN-2T00-GNAGX and says it installs in the console’s expansion slot, allowing games to be played directly from the card. Before treating an offer as a historic low, check the exact model’s live listing and price history.
What is the SanDisk 2TB Xbox expansion card?
It is the SANDISK Optimus GX C50 Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S, model SDCEOGN-2T00-GNAGX. SanDisk specifies a 2TB capacity, an Xbox expansion-slot interface, compatibility with Xbox Series X and Series S, and direct play from the card. SanDisk also lists a five-year limited warranty. SanDisk’s product page says the 2TB model can hold “up to 50 additional games”; that is the manufacturer’s estimate, not a guarantee, since game sizes vary.
SanDisk describes the card as matching the console’s internal SSD experience. That is a manufacturer claim; no independent performance test is established here. The key practical distinction is that this is an expansion card for the Xbox slot, not a generic USB drive.
Is the Prime Day price really the lowest ever?
That claim is not verified. The current Amazon US price and the card’s historical lowest price are not established, so a Prime Day offer should not be called a record low without checking the exact model’s listing and a reliable price-history record.

GamesRadar+ reported launch prices on August 10, 2026, of $109.99 for 512GB, $199.99 for 1TB, and $339.99 for 2TB. Those were reported US-dollar launch prices, not confirmed live Amazon prices or evidence of a lowest-ever price. GamesRadar+’s report also said a release date was not listed on SanDisk’s page at the time.
Windows Central’s 2026 Prime Day coverage listed competing 2TB cards at promotional prices: $212.49 for WD_BLACK C50 and $259.99 for Seagate. Those are competitor prices, not SanDisk offers, and they cannot establish the SanDisk card’s price history. Windows Central’s deal coverage notes that promotion-specific context.

What to verify before buying
- Confirm the listing is for model SDCEOGN-2T00-GNAGX, rather than another capacity or a similarly named Xbox expansion card.
- Check the live price, seller, stock, and promotion terms on the retailer listing.
- Use a price-history record for that exact model before accepting “lowest price ever” language.
Can you play Xbox Series X|S games from an external hard drive?
Not if they are optimized for Xbox Series X|S: SanDisk’s support guidance says those games cannot be played from an external USB drive. An Xbox expansion card is needed to play optimized games directly from added storage. A USB drive can still be used for compatible games or media, but it is not an equivalent substitute for the expansion card. See SanDisk’s external-drive guidance.
