Yes: Samsung’s US Galaxy S26 prices were reported higher on October 1, 2026, with most configurations up $100 and the 1 TB Galaxy S26 Ultra up $200. The iPhone and Pixel warning is no longer entirely prospective: the same report said some iPhone prices and the Pixel 11 series had also increased. That does not show Samsung caused those changes or that every model and region got more expensive.
What changed in Samsung’s US Galaxy S26 prices?
Investing.com reported on October 1, 2026, citing Bloomberg, that Samsung raised US prices across most of the Galaxy S26 lineup by $100. It listed new starting prices of about $1,000 for the Galaxy S26, $1,200 for the S26+, and $1,400 for the S26 Ultra. The 1 TB S26 Ultra was reported at $2,000, a $200 increase. These are reported US prices, not a global price change. Investing.com’s October 1 report does not provide a complete model-by-model comparison for every storage tier.
Launch prices are a different comparison
The later adjustment should not be confused with the S26 family’s launch pricing. The Associated Press reported on February 25, 2026, that US launch prices were $899 for the S26, $1,099 for the S26+, and $1,299 for the S26 Ultra. AP also noted that the basic and mid-tier models were $100 above comparable devices in the prior two years. Those launch figures are useful baselines, but they are not the post-October prices. Are iPhone and Pixel prices going up too?
The October report said Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro line and some older iPhone models had already become more expensive, and that the Pixel 11 series had risen over its predecessor. That makes “could be next” an incomplete description: reported increases were already in the picture by October 1, 2026. The report does not establish that all iPhones or Pixels rose, give a full model-and-storage comparison, or show that Samsung’s decision prompted Apple or Google to change prices. The October report is the basis for this limited comparison.

What is behind the increases?
Investing.com framed the changes amid a memory-chip shortage and rising consumer-electronics costs. That is industry context, not confirmation that Samsung publicly named memory costs as the reason for this specific October US adjustment. In a March 2, 2026, interview report about the S26 and S26+ launch increase and upgrades, Samsung America senior vice president of mobile product management Drew Blackard told Tom’s Guide: “We’ve been able to maintain prices for a pretty long time.” That comment concerns the launch-period discussion; it should not be read as an explanation of the later revision. How to compare phone prices before buying
A higher list price does not tell you what a particular buyer will pay. Check the exact device and the conditions attached to any advertised offer:

- Match the model and storage. A base S26 price is not a like-for-like comparison with a higher-storage model or the 1 TB Ultra.
- Separate current price from launch price. Compare the live US price with the February launch baseline only when the model and configuration match.
- Compare unlocked cost with carrier net cost. A carrier’s advertised reduction may require an eligible trade-in, new service, or a qualifying plan.
- Read how credits are paid. T-Mobile’s offers listed on October 1, 2026, included promotions for Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, and iPhone purchases; some require trade-ins or qualifying service and distribute bill credits monthly. Check eligibility, credit duration, and upfront charges on the official T-Mobile offers page before treating an offer as a discount.
Carrier promotions change, and a monthly bill credit is not the same as an unconditional reduction in the phone’s upfront price.

The reported price changes do not establish that phone prices will keep rising, so they are not enough on their own to justify rushing into a purchase. If you need a phone now, compare the price of the exact configuration with the full cost of any carrier deal, including its service and trade-in conditions. If you can wait, the available reporting does not establish whether future list prices or promotions will be better. Check current prices and offer terms when you are ready to buy.
