Samsung’s U.S. Galaxy Ring preorder promotion was real: during the July 2024 launch window, it cut the ring’s $399.99 launch price to $349.99 and included a sizing kit valued at $10. The offer has expired; it is not a current preorder deal. As of August 18, 2026, Samsung’s offers page advertises a separate promotion of up to $150 in eligible trade-in credit or $100 off without trade-in, subject to its live terms.
What the Galaxy Ring preorder deal included
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Galaxy Ring launch price | $399.99 |
| Preorder price | $349.99 |
| Reduction in ring price | $50 |
| Sizing kit included at no extra charge | $10 stated value |
| Advertised combined benefit | $60 |
The $60 was not $60 off the ring: $50 came off its price, while the remaining $10 represented the sizing kit’s stated value. The $349.99 figure was the ring price before applicable sales tax and any optional protection plan or other purchase. It was a direct price reduction, not a $50 Samsung Store credit, according to Droid Life’s July 22, 2024 deal report.
When the promotion ran—and what is available now
Samsung opened U.S. preorders on July 10, 2024, and began general availability on July 24, 2024. Its launch announcement lists the dates and a starting price of $399.99. The $50 offer was a preorder promotion; its exact closing time is not established here, so it should not be treated as an offer that remained available after launch.

Why the sizing kit mattered
The Galaxy Ring is sold in numbered sizes, so choosing the right fit is a more consequential step than picking a watch band. The 2024 deal report described the sizing kit as included at no charge, with a stated $10 value. Samsung still shows an order-free-sizing-kit option on a Galaxy Ring listing, but current eligibility and ordering steps may differ from the launch promotion.
- Request or use the sizing kit before placing the ring order.
- Wear the test ring long enough to assess comfort, finger choice, and changes in fit.
- Confirm the selected size before submitting the hardware order.
- Check the return and exchange rules for the exact seller and order; a sizing kit does not by itself guarantee a free size exchange.
What the Galaxy Ring was designed to track
Samsung positioned the ring as a health and wellness wearable for use with Galaxy phones and Samsung Health. Its launch announcement highlighted sleep, activity, heart-rate, and wellness insights. The announcement frames the device within Samsung’s ecosystem; buyers should check Samsung’s current supported-device and feature requirements rather than assume every Android phone, or an iPhone, provides the same experience. Verify current phone, app, account, and feature requirements before buying.

Who was better served by preordering—and who could wait
Preordering made more sense for
- People who already used a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone and Samsung Health.
- Buyers who wanted sleep and wellness tracking without wearing a smartwatch.
- Early adopters comfortable with first-generation hardware and the uncertainty that comes with buying before extensive independent testing.
- Shoppers willing to check sizing carefully and for whom the $50 immediate discount outweighed the value of waiting.
Waiting made more sense for
- iPhone users or shoppers who wanted a broad cross-platform experience.
- People unsure about sizing, comfort, compatibility, or how the ring would fit their routines.
- Buyers who needed highly reliable workout measurements or medical-grade readings; the cited launch material does not establish either.
- Shoppers who wanted independent reviews or to compare alternatives before committing to a first-generation product.
Droid Life’s contemporaneous early-use impressions were positive about comfort, sleep wearability, battery life, and tracking, but those observations are one publication’s experience, not proof of long-term performance or a comprehensive assessment.

What could change the checkout total or value
The $349.99 promotion price described the ring, not every buyer’s final checkout total. Taxes, optional Samsung Care+, financing terms, trade-in arrangements, eligibility programs, and separate accessory purchases could affect the amount paid or the effective value. Promotions might also vary by retailer, size, finish, inventory, and account-specific offers. The cited material does not establish that the preorder discount could be stacked with unrelated reservation credits or other promotions.

For current purchases, Samsung’s Galaxy Ring product page and another product listing show purchase prompts and terms that can vary. Review the exact checkout price and applicable trade-in, return, and promotion conditions; a canceled or returned order may not retain promotional savings under its terms.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Bottom line on the historical deal
The July 2024 offer was a genuine $50 reduction from the Galaxy Ring’s launch price, plus a sizing kit valued at $10—not $60 in cash savings. Whether preordering was worthwhile depended on ecosystem fit, careful sizing, and comfort with buying Samsung’s first smart ring before more independent testing. The promotion has ended; check Samsung’s live offers for current pricing rather than relying on the old preorder price.
