Samsung has not confirmed that its 2027 memory supply is largely covered by long-term agreements (LTAs) with NVIDIA, Google and Microsoft. The public record supports a narrower account. Samsung has said it signed HBM supply agreements with customers for 2027 and has been pursuing multi-year contracts with major customers. It has not named those customers, said which companies are counterparties, or quantified how much of its memory output is under contract.

What Samsung has said about 2027 supply

Four public statements from 2026 frame the question. They differ in what they cover, and only one comes from Samsung’s own earnings discussion.

Date Source What was said What it does not establish
March 2026 Reuters report of remarks by Samsung co-CEO Jun Young-hyun Samsung was working with major customers to move toward contracts of three to five years. Any named counterparty, or a single duration applying to every agreement.
July 30, 2026 Samsung second-quarter 2026 earnings call, as shown in an accessible transcript Samsung referred to HBM supply agreements it had already signed with customers for 2027. The passage attributes the remark to Samsung’s memory-business representative. Who the customers are, the volume covered, or whether the agreements extend to non-HBM products.
April 30, 2026 Reuters report of Samsung’s outlook Samsung said that, based solely on demand it had received for 2027, the supply-to-demand gap for 2027 was set to widen beyond 2026 levels. That the gap will actually widen. It is a company forecast based on current orders.
Undated in the reporting reviewed AP report citing Kim Jaejune, an executive in Samsung’s memory-chip division Samsung had secured long-term contracts with five major global data-center clients, which were not named. The identity of the clients. AP’s suggestions about possible companies were its own inference, not Samsung confirmation.

Read together, these statements show a contracting strategy and a supply tightness outlook. They do not show a completed, fully mapped contract book.

Headline element Status in the public record
“Long-term agreements” Supported in general terms. Samsung and its executives have referred to multi-year contracts and signed 2027 HBM agreements, without publishing contract terms.
“With NVIDIA, Google and Microsoft” Not established. No Samsung disclosure reviewed names these companies as counterparties to 2027 agreements. The AP report left the clients unnamed.
“Largely covered” Not established. No Samsung or reporting source gives a percentage of total 2027 memory output that is contracted.
“2027 memory supply” Narrowed in scope. The 2027 agreement statement concerns HBM. Other memory categories are not described as contracted.

Naming those three companies may be a reasonable guess about who buys large volumes of AI memory. A guess, however, is not a disclosure, and it should not appear as a confirmed contract list.

HBM is not the whole memory business

High-bandwidth memory is one product line within Samsung’s memory portfolio. Samsung’s first-quarter 2026 investor report said the company planned to expand HBM4 supply to major customers. Its product materials also list DDR5 RDIMM, SOCAMM2 and V9 eSSD among current and upcoming products.

Rank #2
SAMSUNG EVO Select Micro SD-Memory-Card + Adapter, 256GB microSDXC 130MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD, UHS-I, U3, A2, V30, Expanded Storage for Android Smartphones, Tablets, Nintendo-Switch (MB-ME256KA/AM)
  • ALL THE SPACE YOU NEED: Store tons of media on your phone, load games or download more apps on your tablet at top-notch speed, making transfers seamless and reliable
  • FAST AND SMOOTH: With superfast U3, class 10 rated transfer speeds of up to 130MB/s¹,²and UHS-I Interface³ big apps load and run smoothly, while 4K video remains sharp with A2, V30, and USH-I Interface
  • EXPAND AND STORE BIG: Find your perfect fit from 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB; Select the best capacity for all your memories. Speed class: U3
  • YOU'RE FULLY PROTECTED: EVO Select Plus provides reliable storage and takes on life’s adventures with water⁴, temperature⁵, X-ray⁶, ⁷magnet, drop⁸, and wears⁹ out protection; Backed by a 10-year limited warranty; Proofs are for the microSD card and do not include the adaptor
  • FLASH MEMORY CARD: Performance and reliability you can count on from the flash memory brand; All firmware and components are produced in-house

These products sit in different markets:

  • HBM4 is stacked memory used with AI accelerators. It is the category tied to the 2027 HBM agreements Samsung described.
  • DDR5 RDIMM is registered server memory for conventional data-center and enterprise systems.
  • SOCAMM2 and V9 eSSD are listed in Samsung’s product materials, but public sources reviewed do not describe their 2027 contract status.

A forecast of a tighter overall supply-demand gap does not mean every category is sold out. It also does not mean that a contract in one category covers the others. Readers should check which product a claim refers to before accepting any statement about “Samsung’s 2027 memory.”

What “three to five years” means and does not mean

The three-to-five-year figure is the most specific contract term in the public record. Reuters reported it in March 2026 as the duration Samsung was working toward with major customers. It describes a strategy at that point in time. It is not a published term of any agreement, and it does not show how many agreements Samsung has signed at that length.

The April 2026 outlook is also a forecast. Samsung’s statement tied the expected widening gap to demand it had received for 2027. Demand can change, and a shortage outlook is not the same as a measured shortage in 2027.

What would settle the question

The claim could be confirmed or ruled out by one of two kinds of evidence:

Rank #4
Samsung 64GB Evo Plus Class 10 Micro SDXC with Adapter 80MB/S (MB-MC64DA/AM)
  • Up to 80MB/s transfer speed
  • Works with cell phones, smartphones, Android Tablets, Tablet PCs.
  • Great speed and performance for Full HD video recording, high resolution pictures, mobile gaming, music and more.
  • Water proof, Temperature proof, x-ray proof, magnetic proof
  • Compatible with devices with Micro SDHC and Micro SDXC slots.
  • A Samsung disclosure, such as an earnings call, filing or press release, that names counterparties or states which products the 2027 agreements cover.
  • A quantified account of contract coverage, either from Samsung or from a reporting source that can show how it measured the share of 2027 output under agreement.

Until one of these appears, the accurate description is that Samsung has signed 2027 HBM supply agreements and is pursuing multi-year contracts. Whether those contracts make up a large share of its total memory supply, and which companies hold them, remains unverified.
