Samsung lists an 8.5 kg washing capacity and a 6.0 kg drying capacity. Treat those as different load limits, not as a single 8.5 kg wash-and-dry capacity. If you plan to dry clothes in the machine after washing them, account for the lower drying limit; the amount and type of laundry in a load also affect how practical a combined cycle is.

How deep is the WD85T554DBW?
Samsung lists net body dimensions of 600 × 850 × 650 mm (width × height × depth). Its separate “Full Depth Including Protruding Part” figure is 740 mm. Use the 740 mm figure when checking whether the appliance will fit, then allow for any additional space your installation needs for hoses, connections, ventilation or door movement. Measure the route into the room as well as the final space.
What features does it offer?
Samsung lists AddWash, BubbleWash/BubbleSoak, Hygiene Steam, AI Control, Smart Control through SmartThings, Drum Clean+ and StayClean Drawer. These are manufacturer-described functions, not independent evidence that a particular wash result will be better.

AddWash and wash options
AddWash is a small secondary door intended to let users add fabric items, detergent or softener after a cycle has started. Samsung says it opens only when the drum temperature is below 50°C. BubbleWash and BubbleSoak are described as generating bubbles and soaking laundry to help clean or loosen stains; Hygiene Steam releases steam from the bottom of the drum. Connected controls and care features
Samsung describes Smart Control as working through SmartThings. Its use requires the app and a Samsung Account, and app or service details can change. Drum Clean+ and StayClean Drawer are listed as maintenance-related features. The cycle list includes cotton, daily wash, quick wash, wool, bedding, delicates, rinse/spin, drum clean, wash-and-dry and dry cycles. Check the manual for the exact labels and operation for the market variant before relying on a particular setting.

Samsung’s product page separately lists 4 stars for energy, 4.5 stars for water and 73 L water consumption per cycle. Do not treat an annual energy figure, a cycle-specific water figure and a test result as interchangeable: they describe different measures and bases.

Visible complaints included reliability, drying, noise and service, with some reviewers describing specific failures. There is also mixed review material on a Winning Appliances listing. One visible review dated 2024-01-04 reported extended drying times and an AddWash door leak when lint was caught in the seals.
