No evidence in the cited Samsung materials says using Find My Mobile’s supported remote screen-unlock feature voids a Samsung tablet warranty. That feature is different from unlocking a bootloader or modifying Android software. A specific warranty decision still depends on the tablet, the country where it was purchased, the applicable terms, and the cause of the fault.
What “unlock” means in this question
Find My Mobile remote unlock concerns access to the tablet’s screen or resetting its screen-unlock method. Samsung UK describes using the feature to reset a PIN, pattern, or password when the owner can still access the device biometrically. Samsung says remote unlock must be activated before it can be used; available features and steps can vary by model and software version. Bootloader unlocking, rooting, installing unofficial firmware, and modifying the kernel are different actions. Those changes affect the device’s software or security state; remotely regaining access to the screen is not the same operation.

What Samsung says about Knox and software changes
Samsung Knox documentation associates a changed Knox Warranty Bit with installing an older or unofficial Android build. Samsung’s Knox Security Whitepaper says, “If the kernel has been modified, Trusted Boot sets the Knox warranty violation fuse.” Samsung also notes that a device with a set Knox Warranty Bit may remain usable while Knox-dependent functions are blocked. These statements concern software or kernel modification. The cited Samsung material does not identify Find My Mobile remote screen unlock as a Knox Warranty Bit trigger, nor does it equate the screen feature with bootloader unlocking or unofficial firmware installation.
Why that does not guarantee a warranty outcome
Warranty coverage is not one global rule for every Samsung tablet. The applicable terms depend on the model and purchase country, and the facts of the fault matter. Samsung Philippines, for example, lists damage or defects resulting from unauthorized software or root access among its warranty exclusions; that wording is specific to the Philippines and should not be treated as a universal Samsung policy. Check the terms that apply in the tablet’s purchase region: Samsung US warranty information and Samsung Philippines warranty information.

How to check your tablet and ask about a claim
- Identify what you did. If you only used Find My Mobile to regain screen access or reset the screen-unlock method, Samsung’s cited material gives no basis to treat that as bootloader unlocking or unofficial software installation.
- Check for separate software changes. Rooting, flashing unofficial firmware, or modifying the kernel can have different Knox and warranty implications.
- Look up coverage for the purchase region. Samsung US says eligible Galaxy owners may view warranty coverage and expiration details through the device’s Warranty and care settings when it is linked to a Samsung account. Availability can vary by region, model, and software.
- Ask Samsung or an authorized service provider about the particular fault. Give them the tablet model, purchase country, the action performed, and the issue being reported. The specific warranty terms and whether the fault is related to a modification determine the claim assessment.
Samsung’s support materials also describe SmartThings Find and Samsung Find for locating, locking, or erasing Galaxy devices. Names, features, and availability can change, and these services may require account, connectivity, and settings prerequisites; they are separate from bootloader or firmware modification.
