On the Galaxy tablet models covered by Samsung’s support material and community reports, you generally can’t change the built-in screen’s resolution in Settings. Check Settings > Display or search Settings for “Screen resolution”; if the control is missing, it may not be available on your model. To make on-screen content look larger or smaller, adjust Screen zoom or Font size and style instead.
How to check for a screen-resolution setting

Open Settings on your tablet.

Tap Display, or use Settings search to look for Screen resolution.

If the option appears, use the choices shown on your specific tablet. If it does not, check the manual for your exact model and software version rather than relying on phone instructions.

To identify the tablet model, open Settings > About tablet. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 support page provides model-specific support and manuals, including documentation associated with different software versions.

Why Screen resolution may be missing
Samsung’s phone documentation includes a Screen resolution control, but that does not make it a general Galaxy tablet setting. The Galaxy S9+ phone manual, for example, describes the path Settings > Display > Screen resolution. That is phone-specific guidance, not proof that a tablet has the same option.
A Samsung Community discussion about the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra also reflects a user looking for a resolution setting under Display and not finding one. This supports the practical answer for that model, but does not establish that every Galaxy Tab generation and software version has identical menus. Use the manual for your own model when the menus differ.

Choose the setting that matches what you want to change

Keep the tablet screen separate from video and external displays
A video app’s quality menu controls the resolution of the video stream being played, not the physical pixel resolution of the tablet’s panel. Likewise, a monitor connected to the tablet or used with DeX has its own external-output configuration; changing that is a separate task from changing the built-in screen.
