The Samsung T9 is a portable SSD available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, but the claimed $115 Prime Day discount is not verified here. Check the retailer’s live listing for the capacity, regular price, deal price, and availability before treating it as an active offer.
Is Samsung’s T9 really $115 off for Prime Day?
The available information does not confirm a current $115 discount, a retailer listing, or which T9 capacity the claim refers to. A deal can vary by capacity and change while an event is running, so check the live product page before buying. Compare the displayed price with the price for the same capacity elsewhere; a discount amount alone does not establish that it is the best value.
What the Samsung T9 offers
The T9 is Samsung’s portable solid-state drive, sold in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities. Samsung specifies a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface with a 20Gbps link and advertises sequential read speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s. Its advertised maximum sequential write speed depends on capacity:
| Capacity | Advertised sequential read | Advertised sequential write |
|---|---|---|
| 1TB | Up to 2,000 MB/s | Up to 1,950 MB/s |
| 2TB | Up to 2,000 MB/s | Up to 1,950 MB/s |
| 4TB | Up to 2,000 MB/s | Up to 2,000 MB/s |
These are Samsung’s specifications, not independent test results. Actual transfer speeds depend on the connected device and workload.

Will it reach its advertised speed with your device?
The T9 uses USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 to target its full advertised interface performance. A compatible connector and host are therefore important: having a USB-C port by itself does not establish support for that interface. Check your computer or other host’s specifications before paying extra for the T9’s top speed.
Samsung lists compatibility with Windows, macOS, and Android, and names PCs, laptops, Android phones and tablets, game consoles, smart TVs, and cameras as compatible device categories. Compatibility can still depend on the specific device, port, and use case.

Choose based on the amount of space you need, the current price per terabyte for each capacity, and whether your device can make use of the advertised interface. If your host does not support USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, the T9’s maximum stated speed may not be the deciding factor. No current prices or independent comparisons are established here, so there is not enough information to name a best-value capacity or alternative.
