Choose the Samsung S90H if glare is the main problem in your bright viewing room; choose the LG C6 if Dolby Vision, stronger HDR brightness, or image processing matter more. Samsung’s matte Glare Free screen gives the S90H a practical reflection-handling edge over the LG C6’s glossy screen, but it does not make the Samsung the better TV for everyone.
What sets the Samsung S90H and LG C6 apart?
The key difference is how each handles the viewing environment and HDR content. RTINGS’ direct comparison, updated September 18, 2026, favors the S90H for reflection handling and bright rooms, while it says the C6 is brighter in HDR, supports Dolby Vision, and has better processing. Those distinctions matter more than a blanket “best TV” verdict.
The S90H is a 2026 Samsung OLED positioned between the S85H and flagship S95H. Samsung announced all three series on April 2, 2026, and specifically highlighted Glare Free technology for the S90H. Samsung’s 2026 OLED announcement describes the lineup and feature positioning.
Which TV is better in a bright room?
The S90H is the stronger choice when windows, lamps, or other light sources reflect in the screen. RTINGS attributes its advantage to the matte coating and rates it as the better bright-room option. That coating is intended to reduce the distraction of reflections; it does not mean the TV eliminates all glare or makes room lighting irrelevant.

The C6’s glossy finish is a disadvantage when reflections are prominent, though it may be a reasonable fit in a room where light can be controlled. TechRadar’s discussion of reflections explains why glossy OLED screens can be challenging in bright viewing environments: TechRadar’s OLED reflection overview.
Does the LG C6 have better HDR picture quality?
RTINGS reports that the C6 is brighter in HDR and has better processing. The available comparison does not provide a peak-brightness figure suitable for a precise numerical claim, so the useful takeaway is the published relative result: the C6 has the edge in those areas. If you primarily watch HDR movies in a dim or controlled room, those strengths may matter more than the S90H’s reflection handling.

HDR formats: Dolby Vision or HDR10+?
The C6 supports Dolby Vision, a format absent from Samsung’s listed HDR formats. Tom’s Guide’s comparison lists Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG for the LG, and HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10+ Advanced, and HLG for the Samsung. If Dolby Vision support is a priority for your movie collection or devices, that is a clear reason to consider the LG. If you prefer Samsung’s HDR10+ ecosystem, the S90H supports that format.

Format support alone does not determine how every title will look: the source content and playback device also matter. The comparison table is a useful reference, but confirm format support for the exact regional model and size before buying. Are the S90H and C6 both good for gaming?
RTINGS says the two TVs share gaming features. Tom’s Guide lists 4K resolution, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and 165 Hz refresh for both models. These are published comparison-table specifications, not a guarantee that every size or regional variant has identical capabilities. Check the manufacturer listing for the specific model code you plan to purchase, especially if you need a particular refresh rate or port configuration.
Which sizes and regional models are available?
Availability varies by market. RTINGS lists North American S90H variants from 42 to 83 inches; Samsung UK’s official page confirms a 55-inch UK S90H. Tom’s Guide lists C6 sizes of 42, 48, 55, and 65 inches and S90H sizes of 42, 48, 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches. These lists may not capture every current regional configuration, so use the manufacturer’s listing for your country rather than assuming the same size range worldwide.

Panel details also need a regional qualification: RTINGS says North American S90H models use WOLED across most sizes and have a matte coating; that panel description should not be generalized to every market or size. Samsung’s UK product page identifies its 55-inch regional model: Samsung UK 55-inch S90H product page. For the US lineup announcement, see Samsung Newsroom.
How to choose between them
- Pick the Samsung S90H if reflections are a recurring problem and you want the matte Glare Free screen.
- Pick the LG C6 if Dolby Vision, stronger HDR brightness, or better processing are higher priorities than reflection handling.
- Compare exact regional model codes before deciding on size, panel details, ports, refresh rate, and current price. Those details and availability can vary by market and configuration.
RTINGS’ direct comparison brings the trade-off together: the C6 is better suited to home theater on HDR brightness, Dolby Vision, and processing, while the S90H is better suited to bright rooms because of its reflection handling.
