The Samsung R95H is a premium 2026 4K Micro RGB TV with a 165 Hz mode, effective reflection control, and vivid color. In TechRadar’s hands-on review, it delivered strong contrast for a backlit set, but OLED still produced better blacks and the R95H showed blooming in very dark scenes. Its US launch prices were $3,199.99 for 65 inches, $4,499.99 for 75 inches, and $6,499.99 for 85 inches; those are launch prices, not current quotes.

What the Samsung R95H is—and what it costs

Samsung positions the R95H as its 2026 premium 4K Micro RGB television series. The US models are 65-inch MRN65R95HAFXZA, 75-inch MRN75R95HAFXZA, and 85-inch MRN85R95HAFXZA. Each has a 3840 × 2160 resolution. Samsung lists a 165 Hz refresh rate with VRR support and its Glare Free finish. The R95H uses Micro RGB AI Engine Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro; Samsung’s R85H listing, by comparison, names different processing features. Samsung’s R95H product listings identify the sizes and specifications.

Samsung announced these US launch prices in 2026:

Screen size US model identifier Announced US launch price
65 inches MRN65R95HAFXZA $3,199.99
75 inches MRN75R95HAFXZA $4,499.99
85 inches MRN85R95HAFXZA $6,499.99

These are Samsung’s announced launch prices, not guaranteed current prices. The official listings and TechRadar’s September 20, 2026 review reflected changed pricing after launch, so check the exact size’s live listing before buying. Samsung said the series was rolling out through Samsung.com and select retailers, including Best Buy; that does not confirm local inventory, delivery, or installation. Samsung’s 2026 lineup announcement gives launch pricing and rollout details.

How the R95H picture performs

TechRadar’s September 20, 2026 hands-on review describes the picture as detailed and colorful, with rich blacks for a backlit TV. Its reviewer also found that OLED retained the advantage in black-level performance and observed blooming in very dark scenes. Blooming is a visible halo or haze around bright objects against dark backgrounds, so it matters most for dark-room viewing of star fields, subtitles, or other high-contrast scenes. TechRadar also reported that Movie mode could look overly bright.

The review’s measurements help explain the set’s bright-room appeal, but they describe TechRadar’s test sample and conditions—not guaranteed results for every unit or a Samsung specification. In HDR Filmmaker Mode, TechRadar measured 1,977 nits on a 10% window and 612 nits full-screen. A small bright highlight and a fully bright screen are different workloads; the two figures should not be treated as interchangeable. The same review measured 94.1% BT.2020 gamut coverage and an SDR Delta-E of 3.7. Delta-E is a measure of color error, with lower figures indicating closer measured accuracy.

Samsung says its Micro RGB implementation uses red, green, and blue LED backlights each under 100 μm, citing VDE certification for that technical claim. That describes the hardware approach; it does not by itself establish how the TV will look in every room or scene. TechRadar’s R95H review reports the independent observations and measurements above.

Samsung R95H vs OLED: which fits your room?

The useful choice is not simply “brighter versus better.” Consider where you watch, what you watch, and whether you prioritize dark-scene contrast, bright-room visibility, color, or gaming response. TechRadar’s comparison with Samsung S95H/S99H OLED provides context under its test conditions:

Measure (TechRadar test) Samsung R95H Samsung S95H/S99H OLED
HDR Filmmaker Mode, 10% window 1,977 nits 2,739 nits
HDR Filmmaker Mode, full-screen 612 nits 449 nits
BT.2020 gamut measurement 94.1% 89.2%
SDR Delta-E 3.7 1.6
Input lag at 4K/60 Hz 11.7 ms 9.5 ms

These are TechRadar’s 2026 measurements, not manufacturer ratings. The R95H measured brighter full-screen and wider on the reported gamut figure, while the OLED comparison measured brighter on the 10% HDR window, lower SDR color error, and less input lag at 4K/60 Hz. None of these numbers alone establishes overall picture quality. The review’s reported OLED advantage in black levels and the R95H’s blooming observation are especially relevant if you mostly watch films in a dark room.

  • Favor OLED if: dark-room black levels, the review’s lower input-lag result, or its lower measured SDR color error matter more to you than the R95H’s backlit design and reported full-screen brightness.
  • Compare in your own room if possible: window light, reflections, seating position, and content can change which trade-off is most noticeable. The available review does not establish a complete market ranking across all TVs.

Gaming, smart TV, and supported features

Refresh rate and input lag

Samsung advertises up to 165 Hz with VRR. Its announcement qualifies 4K at 165 Hz: it is available only with compatible PC games and a PC graphics card, and performance may vary. Do not assume a console or every PC input will run at 4K/165 Hz. In TechRadar’s test, input lag measured 11.7 ms at 4K/60 Hz and 9.4 ms at 1080p/120 Hz. The review’s OLED comparison measured 9.5 ms at 4K/60 Hz. These are test-specific latency results, not a promise for every game, picture mode, or connected device.

Tizen and Samsung’s AI features

Samsung describes One UI Tizen as including Samsung TV Plus and Gaming Hub, and says the platform supports up to seven years of OS updates. It also describes AI Soccer Mode Pro as recognizing soccer content and adjusting color and sound, while AI Sound Controller Pro lets viewers adjust voices, music, and sound effects separately. These are vendor-described features; Samsung’s descriptions do not independently verify their usability or results. Check the Samsung announcement for its feature descriptions and 4K/165 Hz qualification.

Which R95H size should you buy?

Choose size based on viewing distance, room layout, and the price of the exact model—not on the series name alone. The 65-inch model is the least expensive entry to the lineup at its announced US launch price; the 75-inch and 85-inch models cost more, with larger screens potentially making sense in a larger seating area. Since prices and inventory change, compare the same size across sellers and confirm the model identifier, delivery terms, and installation details before checkout.

  • 65-inch (MRN65R95HAFXZA): the smallest and lowest-launch-price R95H option.
  • 75-inch (MRN75R95HAFXZA): the middle size; verify the exact size on any listing, since Samsung’s product pages may surface live discounts that differ from launch pricing.
  • 85-inch (MRN85R95HAFXZA): the largest option, intended for buyers whose room and budget support a very large screen.

Before purchasing, compare a current quote for the exact model against the OLED alternative you would otherwise buy at the same screen size. Include any delivery and installation costs in that comparison; the announced TV prices do not establish those charges.
