The Samsung QN70H is a 2026 Neo QLED 4K television positioned around Samsung’s Quantum Mini LED and quantum-dot technology, but its gaming features are limited: RTINGS reports no HDMI 2.1 ports or variable refresh rate (VRR). On 55-inch and larger models, Dual Line Gate (DLG) can provide a 1080p/120 Hz option; the 43- and 50-inch models do not have DLG. That makes the QN70H a more plausible fit if Samsung’s display positioning matters more to you than HDMI 2.1 and VRR gaming support.
What is the Samsung QN70H?
Samsung announced the QN70H in its U.S. 2026 Neo QLED 4K lineup on March 24, 2026. Samsung describes the series as using Quantum Mini LEDs and quantum dots. In the lineup, RTINGS characterizes it as a lower-mid-range model in Samsung’s standard Mini LED range, below the QN80H, and describes its backlight as edge-lit. Samsung’s positioning is not the same as an independent measurement of picture quality; for example, Samsung’s product claims about color volume should be understood as manufacturer claims.
The QN70H is offered in six U.S. screen sizes. The model code changes with size, so confirm the code on the listing or product page before ordering:

How good is the QN70H for gaming?
It is a constrained choice for gaming if your setup depends on HDMI 2.1 or VRR. RTINGS reports that the QN70H has neither HDMI 2.1 ports nor VRR. DLG is available on models 55 inches and larger and can raise the refresh rate to 120 Hz at 1080p, according to the review. That is a specific lower-resolution option, not a replacement for HDMI 2.1 or VRR.
For a 43- or 50-inch QN70H, DLG is absent, so that 1080p/120 Hz option does not apply. RTINGS also says those smaller versions are likely dimmer than the larger sizes; that is the reviewer’s inference, not a result from separately testing every size. Its tested sample was the 65-inch model, and RTINGS says its results also apply to the 55-, 75-, and 85-inch versions.

Which size should you consider?
43- and 50-inch models
Consider these if you need a smaller screen, but do not assume they share the larger models’ DLG feature. RTINGS reports that both sizes lack DLG and are likely dimmer. The independent review’s tested sample was 65 inches, so treat its conclusions for these smaller variants with that scope in mind.

55 inches and larger
RTINGS reports DLG on the 55-, 65-, 75-, and 85-inch models. Its review results apply to these sizes according to the reviewer, although the directly tested unit was the 65-inch TV. If you are choosing among these sizes, room fit and viewing distance still matter; this review does not establish a preferred size for a particular room.

What should you check before installation?
If you plan to wall-mount the television, match the mount to the VESA pattern for your exact screen size. The pattern changes across the lineup, from 200×200 on 43-, 50-, and 55-inch models to 600×400 on the 85-inch model. Confirm that a mount’s stated capacity and fit cover your specific TV; no particular mount is established here as suitable.

Is the Samsung QN70H worth considering?
The QN70H is most worth considering if Samsung’s Mini LED and quantum-dot positioning appeals to you and you do not require HDMI 2.1 or VRR gaming features. For gaming, weigh the missing features carefully: DLG’s 1080p/120 Hz mode is limited to 55-inch and larger models and does not provide the same capabilities as HDMI 2.1 and VRR. For smaller sizes, also account for the lack of DLG and RTINGS’ view that those models are likely dimmer. Compare current pricing for the exact size and model code rather than relying on launch prices.
