The Samsung QA65S85HAEXXY is Samsung Australia’s 2026 65-inch S85H OLED 4K TV. Its official specifications make it a well-equipped option for gaming and everyday viewing, with four HDMI inputs rated for up to 4K at 120 Hz and support for VRR. Independent reviewers also report strong picture and gaming performance for the S85H family, but their results are not verified measurements of this exact Australian model number. Whether it is worth buying depends chiefly on your room’s brightness and its current price against alternatives.

What is the Samsung QA65S85HAEXXY?

Samsung Australia identifies QA65S85HAEXXY as its 65-inch S85H OLED 4K Smart TV for 2026. The panel resolution is 3840 × 2160. Samsung lists a 100 Hz native refresh rate and 120 Hz VRR; those are distinct specifications, so the 120 Hz figure refers to variable refresh-rate capability rather than the stated native refresh rate. Samsung’s Australian product page is the source for these manufacturer specifications.

Samsung also lists anti-reflection, OLED HDR, HDR10+, Filmmaker Mode, and an NQ4 AI Gen2 processor. These describe the set’s features; they do not establish independent picture-quality measurements. Samsung characterizes its OLED picture as offering “deep blacks, clean whites and a full range of lively colours,” which is manufacturer language rather than an independent test result.

How good is the S85H’s picture?

Tom’s Guide’s review, dated July 3, 2026, reports 470 nits of SDR brightness and 770 nits of HDR brightness, each measured with a 10% window, plus 97.5% UHDA-P3 color-gamut coverage for the S85H it tested. These are results for that reviewed S85H, not guaranteed results for every QA65S85HAEXXY unit. Tom’s Guide describes the S85H as balanced for gaming and viewing, while noting it was less bright than the S85F in its comparison. Read Tom’s Guide’s S85H review.

What Hi-Fi’s August 3, 2026 review calls the S85H a strong entry-level OLED and praises its punchy, immersive picture. That is a reviewer assessment, not a numeric test or confirmation of the exact Australian SKU. Read What Hi-Fi’s S85H review.

In practical terms, the independent reviews offer encouraging evidence for the S85H line, but they do not settle how bright this exact model will appear in your room. If the TV will face strong daylight, compare current options with particular attention to brightness. For dimmer viewing conditions, OLED’s picture performance may be a more natural fit; the cited review evidence does not establish a universal room-by-room verdict.

Is the QA65S85HAEXXY good for gaming?

Samsung lists ALLM, VRR, Game Bar, FreeSync Premium, G-SYNC, and HGiG. It specifies four HDMI inputs with maximum 4K 120 Hz input and eARC. That feature set supports connections for compatible consoles, PCs, and audio equipment; actual operation depends on the capabilities and settings of the connected devices. Tom’s Guide measured 9.2 ms input latency on the S85H it reviewed, but that result should not be treated as a verified measurement of every unit bearing this Australian model number.

For a gaming setup, check that the console or PC is connected to an HDMI input and configured for the resolution, refresh rate, and variable-refresh features you want. If you use a soundbar or receiver, eARC is the relevant listed connection for compatible audio gear. Samsung also lists two USB-A ports, Ethernet, optical audio out, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.

Is the Samsung QA65S85HAEXXY worth buying?

It is a credible 65-inch OLED choice if you want Samsung’s listed gaming features, four HDMI inputs, and a 4K display, and if its price compares well with the alternatives available where you shop. The independent S85H reviews are positive overall, but they do not verify performance for this exact Australian SKU. Make the decision by matching the TV’s features to your equipment, considering how bright your viewing room is, and comparing current local prices rather than assuming the family-level review results guarantee this unit’s performance.
