To change volume on a Samsung monitor, use its physical menu or JOG control and follow the instructions for your exact model. Samsung monitors do not all use the same button sequence: some offer volume from the JOG function guide, while others require you to open the Volume screen first.
Find the volume control for your Samsung monitor
- Locate the monitor’s physical control. Check the underside, back, or side of the display for a JOG control or menu button. If you are unsure which control your model uses, find the model number on the monitor and consult its manual.
- Open the function guide or on-screen display (OSD). On models with a JOG control, pressing it can bring up a function guide. The starting point for volume depends on the model.
- Adjust volume using the model’s instructions. For the C27G5/C32G5 family, Samsung’s manual says that pressing Down when the OSD menu is not displayed changes the volume setting. For a different Samsung model covered by its G55T series manual, the instruction is to adjust volume by moving the JOG control left or right on the Volume screen. Follow the manual for your monitor rather than assuming either sequence applies to every model.
Mute or unmute the monitor
On the model covered by the cited Samsung manual, open the Volume control screen and move focus down to mute. To unmute, increase or decrease the volume. This procedure is model-specific; use your monitor’s manual if the controls differ.

If volume controls are locked or missing
OSD controls do not respond
OSD Lock can prevent menu changes. Samsung’s support guidance gives different unlock steps depending on whether the monitor uses a menu button or a JOG control. On certain button-control models, holding the Menu button for 10 seconds toggles the lock. For JOG-control models, Samsung describes opening the options, selecting Menu, then holding JOG left for 10 seconds and continuing until the indicator flashes. Confirm the steps for your exact model before trying them; they are not universal.
There is no Volume option, or changing it has no effect
Check the manual for your exact model and confirm the connected device’s sound-output setup. Samsung’s documentation shows that volume controls and audio hardware vary by model, so there is no single fix established for every monitor.

Your monitor may not have speakers
Verify the audio specifications for the exact model. Samsung’s LF24T450FQ product information identifies built-in speakers on that model, but this does not mean every Samsung monitor has speakers. If the model lacks speakers, changing the monitor’s volume will not produce sound through the display.
