Samsung Internet for Windows is no longer limited to its original U.S. and South Korean beta: Samsung announced its official Windows release on March 26, 2026, and its Korean newsroom said users globally could use the PC browser. That does not mean every feature is available everywhere. Samsung’s launch announcement limited its agentic AI features to South Korea and the United States at the time, and the latest explicit AI-region statement in the official material reviewed remains that March announcement.
What “global availability” means
Samsung opened the Windows beta in the United States and South Korea on October 30, 2025. On March 26, 2026, it announced the official Windows release. Samsung Newsroom Korea said global users could use the PC browser after launch, while Samsung’s English launch announcement described AI availability separately as limited to South Korea and the United States at that time. The reviewed official sources do not provide a country-by-country download list, so availability in a particular country should be checked through Samsung’s local product or download channel.
Samsung’s March launch announcement said the AI features would expand to additional markets, but the official material reviewed does not confirm a later worldwide rollout. Do not assume that browser access and access to all AI functions are the same thing.
Windows requirements and getting started
Samsung’s launch announcement specifies Windows 11 or Windows 10 version 1809 or later. Its U.S. product page uses the broader wording “Windows 10 or later.” For the more precise version threshold, use the launch announcement’s Windows 10 version 1809 requirement.

What syncs between Samsung Internet on PC and Galaxy devices
Samsung describes bookmark and browsing-history synchronization, the ability to continue a page between mobile and PC, and Samsung Pass support for sign-in and autofill. Samsung Pass functions and compatible apps can vary by country.

At launch, Samsung said continuity required a current Samsung Account and Samsung Continuity Service or Galaxy Connect installed on the PC. Samsung listed Galaxy Book 3, 4, 5, and 6 series as supported at that time; availability for additional devices was planned. These are vendor-stated compatibility details, not a guarantee that every Galaxy phone and Windows PC combination supports every continuity feature.

Samsung’s August 26, 2026 update said version 30.0.4 included Galaxy Connect in the Samsung Browser installer. The update also described opening an app on a linked Galaxy phone from the browser’s side panel and synchronizing Samsung Reminders between a Galaxy phone and the browser’s calendar side panel.

Galaxy Connect has its own hardware and software constraints: Samsung says it supports Windows 11 or later on x64 PCs with Intel or AMD processors, excludes ARM PCs, and requires Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipsets with specified minimum driver versions. A Windows PC that runs the browser may therefore still fail to meet Galaxy Connect requirements.
Which AI features are described for Windows?
Samsung describes an assistant built with Perplexity that can answer questions using page context, handle natural-language searches, find a moment in a video, retrieve information from browsing history, and summarize or compare multiple open tabs. Availability depends on country, region, and language; Samsung also says query counts may be limited and AI result accuracy is not guaranteed. Its March 2026 announcement identified South Korea and the United States as supported markets at that time.

Samsung’s U.S. product page also lists Ask AI, Summarize, and Translate among Galaxy AI features, but it does not make every feature universal to Windows users. Several browsing-assistance functions require a network connection and Samsung Account login; language support varies, and some functions are limited or unavailable on certain paid websites. The page lists Read Highlight Aloud as Android-only, so it should not be treated as a Windows feature.
Privacy controls are features, not a security guarantee
Samsung lists Smart Anti-Tracking and a Privacy Dashboard, which shows blocked trackers and privacy settings. These are browser controls described by Samsung; their presence is not independent evidence that browsing is completely private or that the browser is more secure than alternatives.

Samsung’s product information also makes clear that some features depend on region, language, device, account, network access, paid-site restrictions, or character limits. Review the requirements for the specific function you intend to use rather than assuming that installing the browser enables everything.

Samsung’s Windows release notes list version 31.0.0.55 on September 17, 2026, with bug fixes, stability improvements, and B2B feature updates. The release notes’ March 25, 2026 entry renamed Samsung Internet to Samsung Browser and introduced AI features for South Korea and the United States. These are dated release-note entries, not a claim that version 31.0.0.55 remains the newest version indefinitely.
Quick Recap
Should you try it?
- It may fit well if you already use Samsung Internet on a Galaxy phone and want Samsung-described bookmark, history, and page continuity on a compatible PC.
- Check compatibility first if you want Galaxy Connect features: the supported PC hardware, Windows version, and Intel wireless drivers matter, and ARM PCs are excluded.
- Do not choose it solely for AI without confirming that the specific feature is available in your country and language and works with the websites and account setup you use.
- Compare it on your own needs: Samsung’s sources establish product features and system requirements, not independent speed, safety, or accuracy comparisons with other browsers.
