A reported Samsung HBM4 quote for 2027 is in the mid-to-high $4 range per gigabit, but it is a negotiation figure—not a confirmed contract price. The October 2026 report does not name Nvidia or Broadcom as the customers in those talks, so the headline’s “final stage” wording is not established for either company.

What the Samsung HBM4 price report actually says

An October 5, 2026, account by XenoSpectrum, attributing its pricing information to Maeil Business Newspaper on October 2, says Samsung was negotiating 2027 HBM4 prices with “major customers” and quoting a mid-to-high $4 per gigabit. The report does not identify those customers, disclose a signed deal, or say the quoted figure was accepted. Read the account and its attribution.

The same account gives approximately $1.50 per gigabit as a comparison for current mainstream HBM3E. That comparison is reported, not an official Samsung price disclosure. These are per-gigabit figures (Gb), not per-gigabyte (GB) prices; they should not be converted into a customer’s total purchase cost without information about capacity, product configuration, volume, and contract terms.

Reported figure What it refers to What it does not establish
Mid-to-high $4 per gigabit Samsung’s reported quote in negotiations for 2027 HBM4, as recounted by XenoSpectrum from Maeil Business Newspaper’s October 2, 2026, report. A signed price, a named customer, a final supply volume, or a uniform market price.
About $1.50 per gigabit The same account’s reported comparison for current mainstream HBM3E. An official Samsung price disclosure or a directly comparable final HBM4 contract.

Are Nvidia and Broadcom confirmed as the negotiating customers?

No. The October 2026 price account refers to “major customers” without naming Nvidia or Broadcom. Samsung’s official announcements confirm relevant business relationships, but neither announcement identifies those companies as parties to the particular 2027 pricing talks or confirms an agreed HBM4 price.

Nvidia: collaboration is public; the reported price talks are not attributed to it

Samsung presented HBM4 in the context of its Nvidia collaboration at NVIDIA GTC in March 2026. That establishes a public relationship, not that Nvidia was one of the unnamed customers in the October price report. Samsung’s GTC announcement.

A separate Seoul Economic Daily report dated December 16, 2025, said Samsung’s negotiations with Nvidia over HBM4 supply for the following year were in their final stages, with specific volumes and prices expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2026. That is historical reporting about an earlier supply discussion; it does not establish the status or participants of Samsung’s October 2026 price negotiations. Read the December 2025 report.

On July 25, 2026, Samsung and Broadcom announced a memorandum of understanding to expand collaboration across memory and foundry technologies. The announcement included planned HBM supply for Broadcom’s next-generation AI accelerators. It does not disclose a finalized HBM4 supply agreement, price, volume, or participation in the October negotiations. Read Samsung’s Broadcom announcement.

What remains unknown about Samsung HBM4 prices

  • Which companies are negotiating the reported 2027 HBM4 prices.
  • Whether any customer accepted the reported mid-to-high $4-per-gigabit quote.
  • Whether Samsung signed a 2027 HBM4 contract at that price, or at another price.
  • What supply volumes, product configurations, or customer-specific terms may apply.
  • Whether Nvidia or Broadcom is involved in these specific negotiations.

Until a direct disclosure or more specific reporting identifies counterparties and terms, the safest description is a reported negotiation quote for 2027 HBM4—not a confirmed Nvidia or Broadcom price.
